I got a Rough Rider back when I was a kid. Not really sure what age I was though. I would have to say maybe early 80’s. Did they make a reproduction of this model? If so how can you tell which one you have? Thanks for any help!!

The re-release is the Buggy Champ.

There's quite a large list of slight changes in the original production run that can tell you roughly when it was made and again there are detailed changes in the re release production run , if you can post up pictures of the rear of the gearbox where the suspension arms mount , pictures of the front suspension is helpful too , if your looking at replacing parts the new front suspension kind of gets expensive as it's slightly different in geometry to the early ones .

That's pretty complete from a restoration point of view , looks like your guess of early 80s is good , it's not the very earliest production parts from what I can see but it looks like you only really short of wheels ,tires and a body .
