The tire was not printed on a resin printer : the resin printer I have is way too small for this tire. And the Big Bear tire might not be printable on a resin printer as flex resin is very difficult to print on big screens... At the end it was printed in FDM, with TPU filament, which is more realistic for this specific case... For smaller tires, resin printer can do the job, but for the Big Bear, it's not possible...BillKrueger wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 11:54 am Wow that looks amazing. Might have to pick myself up a resin printer.

Sounds like I should pick up some tpu and try this out. I'm guessing it took forever to print..

Yes, TPU needs to be printed with a very low volumetric flow rate, which means slow speeds, even on a fast printer... And I really suggest adaptative layers to mitigate the need of thin layer height for a better finish without loosing too much of time... In 0.2 mm per layer, constant it took about 10:30 hours of print per face...BillKrueger wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 1:07 pm Sounds like I should pick up some tpu and try this out. Yikes, I have an ender 3V2 and use Cura for my slicer, I'd have to look more into the settings. 40 hours for a set of tires... Yikes. Lol. But it's doable... What size nozzle did you use?

I had hard times trying printing TPU with my Ender 5 plus: the bowden tube setup did not help, and based on what I read, the more flexible the filament is the more a direct drive setup is required... With the Bambu Lab X1C, this is super easy... The nozzle iI used is 0.4mm, and for this proof of concept, I did not used any adaptative layer, it was printed in 0.2 mm layer thickness...BillKrueger wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 11:49 pm Yikes, I have an ender 3V2 and use Cura for my slicer, I'd have to look more into the settings. 40 hours for a set of tires...
