It feels like I am making this issue more difficult than it needs to be, but here goes:

What size are the ballstuds on an RC10 Worlds Car?
- I think I figured out they are 3.85 cm ?
- In order to fit original ballcups / or replacement RPM #73372

However I believe most of these threaded as 4-40, right?

Can anyone recommend a 3.75 ballstud threaded in M3 ?


The specific issue I have is - a newer aluminum, clamping servo arm in an older RC10B3.
- I want to keep the original size ballcups
- But the original ballstuds do not thread into the aluminum servo horn (4-40 (vs) M3)

Schumacher ball joints should be the same size as associated, but in metric thread.

They are 0.17", or 4.3mm. As said, Schumacher studs are 4.3mm and have M3 threads. HPI made some as well but they are kinda hard to find now.

I don't recommend using the RPM ball cups on a RC10 buggy. Clearance is already tight in the area where the camber links and steering links pass, and the extra bulk of the RPM cups can cause issues.

Original cups or B2 style are best. Custom Works cups are similar to the B2 style. I've heard that Schumacher cups fit as well but haven't tried them. If you can find the old style CRC cups, they are similar to the original ones but I don't really like the new style (they didn't change part numbers either).

You can use the low profile studs for the Schumacher Atom where the camber links attach to gain a little clearance. But don't use them on the steering links, as they don't allow the cups to articulate fully under suspension compression. This isn't an issue with the camber links.
