Gun Room remodel

Well yet again I can never sit still, way too much of my Grandpa Murphy in me. He always had to be doing something. Spent the past 5 days working about 10hrs per day redoing the gun room. Ran out of room so needed to extend the slatwall. So figured while I had it all torn apart I would redo the entire area and make it much bigger and much more "clean/classy" looking. So extended the walls by 7ft, painted it all flat gray, redid the floor a black marble tile, redid the desk all gray, added more lighting, and finished getting my reloading area set up so I can start reloading this week. I'm gonna say I'm "done" but anyone that knows me knows that's a damn lie. One thing I may do is add another steel door. Already have steel reinforced doors, but kicking around the idea of adding a 2nd one at the bottom of the stairs just to be double safe.

Thanks, I've already been enjoying it/comfort tonight. Sat down there and cleaned guns watched vids on laptop and just relaxed for about 2 hrs tonight already. Been thinking I may want to add a TV for that area now maybe. Looked up and you can get a 32" from Walmart for only $98. So might grab that and seen a ceiling tv mount on Amazon for $42. So thinking less than $150 I could do a hang down style tv in that area.

If this awesome room is below grade in a basement, are there any plans to turn one side into a handgun shooting range? Personally, I think that would be awesome. Just sayin'....

I wish! Sure would save me a lot of money from going to the range every week dropping about $20 per visit. Have you seen the guy on youtube that has a huge collection as well as a full size range in his basement? He goes by the name "the collector" and has probably well over $1,000,000 in his collection. He has not only a pistol range, but he shoots full/rifles/ everything all in his basement https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYSMz5Ap-TQ

Ouch.

Local shooting club is only $100 a year. It's all outdoors, but has everything from pistol to 1000 yards. The 600/1000 yard ranges have a separate key and you must qualify.

That's a helluva good price. A buddy and I are thinking about joining one here. The local indoor one I go to is the one that $20/hr and is only about 3 miles away. There's a "club" that we are thinking of joining which is $250 per year and is outdoor, has a 200,300, and I think a 400yrd range. Only thing is that one is about 45min-hr from me. Wish it were closer.

I just noticed you are in Royal Oak Michigan. 2 quick unrelated points:

It is great to see that the 2nd Amendment is still intact up there. Gov. Whitmer is not a fan of it.

I am a Ford man myself, but Royal Oaks Super Duty Catalinas are about as cool as it gets!

Yeah I am no fan of big Gretch at all lol. I think she may be gone (fingers crossed) in a couple months when Tudor goes up against her.

Yep Royal Bobcat...I'm only 50 yrs old so I wasnt around for the Royal Pontiac days of the 60's, but my Dad was. He had a 64GTO he bought from Royal. I've had a few 69-72 GTO's myself but not from there of course.

I just started yet another new hobby last week. Reloading my own ammo. Took my first ever 100 rds to the range today and shot them. I am beyond happy with my reloads. I was nervous as can be about shooting them because things could go VERY bad if they aren't loaded properly. But with my OCD I was triple checking everything during the process, and happy to say it went great today shooting them. The first 10 were very nerve wracking lol. Was worried I may not have done it right and was waiting to lose a finger so my aim was shaking all over the place for the first 10 rds. The red X's are the first 10 shots as you can tell. Then after 10 rods I knew they were done right and settled in and was very comfortable with shooting them. So the other 90rds went pretty much dead center mass. I honestly feel like my grouping was much better with my own reloads over factory ammo. Now that I know they work properly I'll be loading up the next 900 rds over the next couple weeks.
