Been thinking of this for a while. I've got a fair pile of Coyote transmission parts and I've already CAD modeled the Tag Pro10 suspension but I want to take it a little further, I'm planning on changing around the front suspension to give the arms a 15 degree angle and doing something else with the chassis to maybe lower the COG and give more battery options.
Anyway, I wanted to start with a proper CAD model of the stock chassis so I could be sure of the fit for the trans.

This has been waiting on my having two minutes for a while now but this is the next step , this adds 10 degrees kick to the front arms , its about as far as you can go while retaining some DNA , what I've done is modify the front bulkhead , the bulkhead behind the diff pumpkin and the top arm mount so the arms mount ten degrees rotated around the diff outdrive . The chassis will need minor modification for the front bulkhead fittings and of course its bottom profile , in the last shot you can see how much of the chassis plate needs adapting as its pictured with an early style chassis mounted the other side of the diff , the diff position is unchanged so the transmission needs no modification . I've just noticed the front bulkhead needs further work to move the under guard screw mount up .

It's a bit of a challenge , I've just sorted most of it but it will need a guard under the rear screws for the bottom arms as they will be a lowest point , that's unavoidable though .

maybe incorporate the guard into a new bumper: tamiya did this often

This was my thought exactly , probably Kydex .

This looks to be a very technical project...Although I'm not familiar with a Coyote, based on the illustrations, it looks like Mr.Ed has the right idea about using the bumper as a guard. Seems to be several places to bolt one on.....I can't wait to see the progress on this!

If your not familiar with the SG or Tag Coyote they had front suspension arms that were absolutely flat to the ground , not uncommon for early cars , this part of the modification is to add that front kick up to the suspension .

A little chassis rectification to fit the suspension mods and the top arm/shock mount modified to be able to mount a shock tower . Ultimately the chassis may look very different as I'm thinking of moving the motor to one side , the battery to the other and using a mostly two deck chassis , upper and lower in a more modern way possibly with just vestiges of the stock left ,right chassis plates . Not sure yet as that may change the DNA too much for my liking .

Test print of parts , the chassis plate is only the front section and the cut is a vertical cut so you can use it as reference.

Started the major chassis mods , the aim is to lay the motor to one side rather than have it right up top in order to lower the centre of gravity , the battery will be a standard shape and lay flat on the opposite side and more centrally , as close to the prop shaft as possible in order to balance the motor weight as best as possible . The motor mount is also adapted but with a view to maintaining the DNA as far as possible.
