Here goes a Pro X build. This is a Team version, which includes full bearings, alloy turnbuckles, and coated threaded shocks. I am starting with a very clean donor car, and lots of NIP parts to replace anything that shows signs of damage or wear.

Several years back I built a Pro XRT truck all from NIP pieces, because I couldn't find one for sale. This time should be much easier.

I love the look of these cars, especially the body. It's a shame they sold so poorly. I understand they were very capable cars, but let down by a transmission inferior to the competition, and made worse by manufacturing issues with the cases. Fortunately, the transmission on this particular example spins very freely, unlike my XRT. It is being built mostly stock, with the exception of some SS hardware and colored shock caps/collars.

Note: The white plastics always appear very yellow in my box lighting.

I'm finally getting this build moving again. I've had a hard time finding the correct size axles to fit with the MIP Shiny CVDs I have.

Slider. I decided to keep the black shock caps & collars for now. My XRT has them in purple, so I may switch to that, so they match.

Just need body, wing, and electronics.

I put in this Kyosho stock motor. I've always liked the look of these motors.

I love the look of these cars, but I wouldn't want to race one. So many weak areas, and the transmission is terrible. It was spinning smoothly in the case, but once installed on the chassis it bound up. I tried loosening screws, and still could not get it smooth. Glad this one is just a pretty paperweight.

Note - If you put the rear ballstuds in the locations indicated in the manual, the rear turnbuckles cannot be shortened enough to fit. I had to use the far out location on the hubs, and even then, it just barely worked. Very strange

I finally found the correct axles to mount the shiny MIP cvds. Here they are next to the stock universals, that I polished. My XRT also has the shiny MIP cvds. They are very uncommon pieces on pretty uncommon models.

The MIP drives are slightly longer than stock, and actually bottom out in the outdrives when the suspension is fully compressed.

Electronics have been added. No servo yet.

I've got the little red cap for the transmission and other bits and pieces if you're interested.

Looks great and that esc is my favorite and hoping to find one for my b2 at some point.

I am still waiting on the wing, which appears to be a month away still. So here are some pictures of the body. I just did a simple pearl white paint. I ordered the decals from MCI, and changed the orange to purple. I really like how the purple looks over the orange.

MCI is a great resource, but the quality is not quite what you get on factory decals. When applying large body decals, you sometimes have to place a section, and then pull it off and change the position. The MCI decals get a bit destroyed when you do this them.

I can't decide if I like the wheels better with or without the blue decals?

Hmmm. Maybe the wing treatment could make the blue in the wheel decals look more at home. I think the wheel decals are pretty "sick", but it's hard to make the final desicion without the wing. Any desicion you make will be the correct one as evidenced in all of your builds.

I'll admit to knowing almost nothing about the Pro X.
Maybe it came along during my hiatus from the hobby - I donno.

The pro x was released in 1994 the same year as the ZX-RR
And was the replacement for the triumph, unfortunately the sst gearbox was a bit of a lemon when it came out but man they are a cool buggy, you can really see the massive influence that the losi xx had on a lot of buggies back then that’s for sure.

I like the wheel decals but love the car.
I was totally unaware of this model.

The wing is mounted. For now, I'm leaving the wheel decals on just one side, because I can't decide if I like them better or not.
