Wanted to start an info thread on the Holeshot and Stinger buggies. This has been described as a more affordable OEM clone of the Genova buggy from Gforce. Please share any of your insights, advice or review or pics yours RC. I will have to wait a while to get mine.
Would have been nice to have bought ten and started a fun novice class

Can the friction shocks be filled with oil by chance?
Are the composite plastics different quality from the Gforce Genova?
Also, except for the tires, body post, and body, are the Holeshot and Stinger the exact same?
The front tires look like the old RC10T3 tires, are they decent quality?

Also, if you look at the parts that Jegs carry you can see the different length arms for the truck and buggy, which would also mean the upper arms and drive shafts. The chassis is the same, so this will be a pretty long buggy. Basically like a Bandit

If you do Facebook, the RCKicks group has several folks posting about these cars. The RCKicks YouTube channel has done a few videos as well.

Ran across this, maybe something to watch out for.

If you have the Holeshot how has the experience been so far with this truck? Holding up well and any modifications you recommend? Will be able to finally take it out of storage to take it for a run.

Not sure if the stinger is much different than a holeshot. I gave my 7 year old the stinger and put truck tires on it for him. Seems to hold up to bashing just fine.

Just took the same stinger to the track with the kids.

It’s too fast for racing. A lot of under steer

That said my kid had more fun driving this than my 10t

The rear hinge pin came loose just like in the other post. It dropped a dogbone when it happened.

Other than that on the first jump a shock blew off its cap. I filled it back up and no problems for rest of the day.

At some point the wing came unscrewed.

The rear body hole didn’t make it past jump 1.

It just looks great in the air.

The tires seemed ok for the track but obviously were not the holeshot 3.0

With some time passed this is the opposite position I was in when bought the stinger. I wanted a car with cheap part support that they could bash around,

I now have a full pit box rc10 worth of parts thanks to fan rc. I don’t know where to get parts for the stinger.

Jegs still has parts for it. Also parts from the Geforce Genova fit but those are hard to come by stateside.
