Well... I've sent out a mail to the resin manufacturer with some pictures to see if they have some idea that I did not have... We'll see... I'm out of ideas right now...

I'm dry on ideas side right now...
Time to unfill the VAT more intelligently than last week...

I'm getting better at this... I may need to find a bigger funnel and filter to make this even more efficiently (trying to do things, you get better and better every time, to the point that at some point you don't see it as a difficult thing to do...

I got that same set of silicone rubber funnel and tea strainer and found it too small , but the paper painters funnels are too big ....silvertriple wrote: ↑Sun Apr 23, 2023 5:45 pm I'm dry on ideas side right now...

If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.
A problem shared is a problem halved but an advantage shared is no advantage at all.

Re: SilverTriple's printing stuff...
I clearly find the AMS solution working quite well and having multiple advantages:
- not needing to replace the rolls between prints is one of them
- keeping the rolls in controlled atmosphere is another one
Now, 4 seats is not enough. I'm seriously considering adding another AMS...

Re: SilverTriple's printing stuff...
Since I have the Bambu Lab X1C, I have the possibility to print TPU... Not the lower shore yet, but at least I can print flex filament from the spool holder... It's slow (volumetric flow rate need to be low for TPU), but now that I have a profile that works, I've decided to try a print of the Big Bear tire halves... Print is going to be long : about 10 hours and a half for each side... I'll try to glue them using the external sides of my mould to see if viabale to do this way...

And this is fully the default profile for generic TPU in Bambu studio... Crossing fingers as I really would like to see a Big Bear Tire in person (remmember : I've not seen one yet myself, as the dimension were given to me by a friend from Norway)

Re: SilverTriple's printing stuff...
I got this one : https://amzn.eu/d/cm7VGvG
Diameter is about 10cm, and it's much better. And it comes with two sizes for filter holes. I've not tried yet, but it seems much better... I'll confirm when I have a chance to try...

Re: SilverTriple's printing stuff...
First half print finished during the night...

TPU 95A is way to rigid for this, but this is for an experimentation, so I don't really care... There is TPU with lower shore, if I succeed to glue the two halves together, I may try later on to print a tire with a TPU with a rated shore of 65A to see... But not now, as I would need to order a TPU roll first...

Re: SilverTriple's printing stuff...
Now that I have two halves printed...

I put some additional stuff in Fusion 360 to work that out...

A small precision : the two tires halves have been designed to be printed without any need for support, and the internal rings are acting as support for the printing. This is addressing one the support issue during the printing and as well the key weakness of the Big Bear tire : the walls strength which is low to support the car on a shelve...

Re: SilverTriple's printing stuff...
In absolute need of reporting something
The tool to allow the connection was printed and put in place

Then, I used the glue I use normally to bond the tires to the rims...

And I have now a way too rigid Big Bear tire (shore 95A - we should target 50A-65A Shore I believe)...

Thanks!
I've put the files on Printables and Thingiverse already, cults3D will be tomorrow...

Re: SilverTriple's printing stuff...
Today, some testing required before doing something else which requires the test results...
Launched a print of a benchy in HIPS using a new roll of HIPS inserted in the second AMS, next to the ABS roll... After this one, I launch a dual material test using HIPS as support material for ABS to confirm it works...

Re: SilverTriple's printing stuff...
I can confirm HIPS works as interface support for ABS, but I'm not sure yet my HIPS profile is perfect...

It is still a better result than without a different material as interface support... For the small story, the profile I used for HIPS is ASA, as there is no profile for HIPS yet in BambuStudio nor in the X1C firmware... I may try the same with ABS profile later on...

Re: SilverTriple's printing stuff...
Tires test print resumed today, following some mail exchanges and advisory provided by the resin manufacturer.
I launched a modified versions of both front and rear tires, to ease the printing.
Few hours later...

The rear is a clear fail and I still do not understand why. I'm going to increase the supports to see if it changes something...
The front however is looking good
. And until now, all my attemps to pull a front tire turn in a fail...

I've modified the rear slicing, and change somethin on the tire model. Let's see in a few hours...
