Will Team Associated Do Another Re-release?

I would love to see Team Associated do a B2 or even a B3 re-release. Does anyone think it's possible. B2 was a world champ, and considering how hard it is to find original parts now, may be the best sales opportunity. Would they wait until 2025?

Ah, one can dream

I thought the B2 itself was just a re-release of the Losi XX. No?

Seriously, though, I got out of the hobby while the XX was still the king. When I came back many years later with hazy memories, I honestly thought the B2 looked like a complete ripoff of the XX. That was through the eyes of a casual observer. I am sure you folks in the know can point to at least 47 million differences, but to me, at a glance, ripoff.

To answer the question, though, I think Thunder Tiger complicates things a bit. Associated is really a company within a company. Their racing designs are sort of "dumbed down" or cheapened and released as different products at lower price points. I think that is very different than a Tamiya, Kyosho, or Schumacher. Those companies are largely intact as they were bitd. They are reliving their glory days just as much as we are.

I think Losi has a similar situation to Associated, and this may be why they seem to dance around the re-re game, releasing small Chinese replicas of their old stuff versus doing an actual re-release.

Imo not a chance. They likely did as expected in the classic but the world's rere was a disaster. They were closing them out cheap trying to dump them and nobody was buying. They resorted to having Don build them to sell as rollers. From everything I've heard, this sealed the fate of future reres from AE

I'd be happy if they did a run of spare parts every now and then.

If they did another rere...for example, the graphite RC10..
They can't make any changes from original...it needs to be exact!
Then, people will be all over it like flies on rib roast.

Too bad they didn't learn that on the classic. I think they knocked that one out of the park. Sure there were some loose fitting parts and green ball cups but it wasn't the nightmare the world's rere was

It looks like you can nearly assemble a graphite rc10 based on jcracing parts. It looks like they are only missing a few parts.

And the best part is they’re injection moulded not 3d printed. 👍🏼

I'm not a gambling man but I'd bet that Associated is out of the re-re business for good. The points above don't need to be restated again since mostly what I was going to say is already covered but there just isn't any 'real' money in it for them.

One thing I will add, while it won't help with AE- it's too late- if you like seeing rereleased from kyosho and what Losi is doing with the mini jrx... BUY SOME. That is how they know it's worth spending the time and money making these things. They need to know there is interest. If you want to see a Lazer or a mini Pro SE come to light you might want to buy a mid or a jrxt to hold you over and show them it's worth doing. I'm not saying everyone has the cash to do this, but if you are in a situation where you can afford it, every sale will be a step further. Plus the kits kyosho are making are pretty awesome to build and run, and the losi minis are amazing even as just displays

the word from the horse's mouth is that it will never happen -- the molds were lost

It's about two thirds through this interview with AE's Shawn Ireland on THe Radio Impound Podcast

That's like what the 3rd time their molds were "lost"? You'd think they would learn  Or it's an excuse so people quit asking.
