Re: Big Bear Resurrection
I just updated the files on Thingiverse, Cults3D and Printables with a version of the repair parts designed to suit Frog body mounts...
I buy kits to build and ru(i)n them

Re: Big Bear Resurrection
Big thanks to silvertriple!
Got the rear repair body posts printed and used Tamiya Frog body posts. Had to cut the thread off the Frog mounts and then cut 8-32 threads on the upper of the shaft and everything screwed together just nice, without doing any drilling on the printed repair parts. I can get more pics if anyone is interested.

Re: Big Bear Resurrection
It's been a minute but finally found time to sit down and finish painting the body. So, I'm gonna ask for some opinions. I don't know if I want to put on the decals (got a set or repros from MCI). Thoughts?
Other than that, it's done. Stock motor with a Futaba MC210 ESC from back in the day and a random servo I had laying around, can't remember what it is but it turns the tires so good enough for me.
Spray paints came from Tamiya. TS-50 metallic blue and TS-29 black. The rest is from a set of Testors acrylics. Not to pat myself on the back or anything but I'm not gonna be running this, it's fully functional but I'm not messing up the body, maybe an occasional topless run however. Now on to my Blackfoot. My very first R/C that I got as a kid and my brother has been hoarding for me for years. Got it back from him a month or so ago and it's time to get it back into running condition. More on that to come...

Re: Big Bear Resurrection
On RC, I personally like decals. I think they would add to the good looks of your Big Bear.

Re: Big Bear Resurrection
I think a few decals might look good .
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Re: Big Bear Resurrection
OK, I was hesitant at first but I think you guys were right. I like it better now. Also used a silver paint pen to paint the "Datsun" lettering on the sides and grill. I'm done with it for real now.
