This thing still looks good and runs great. I know I will need to get new batteries, only runs for like 3 minutes then dies. What are good ones to get.

Also, is it worth upgrading anything on this?

Thanks

Welcome.

A new Nimh battery would get you going

That battery would work with the truck and charger you have. It is similar to the one that associated recommended for the T3 RTR kit.

As for the upgrade question that will depend on how much you will drive it.

It could make sense to take most of it apart and clean it up. The shocks likely need some attention.

If you really get into driving it a new steering servo will get you much better response.

You can mostly modernize it with a new brushless speed controller, motor and Lipo batteries. There is a lot you can do but it's a great truck as it is. It was popular so even though it's older there are still some parts available.

I would replace the motor with something else.

The Tamiya RZ, BZ, and TZ are great choices. Japanese made and fully rebuildable.

Lots of other stuff out there (including the Reedy Radon) are Chinese made. If you look, most of the new Reedy, Integy, Surpass, Brood, etc have the same cans and endbells.

I have that motor in my T3 for casual use it feels fine. It seems that going brushless would be bigger gain for the money.

thanks for the input...... how does this RC look? Typical standard build or are there any upgrades from the norm?

Thanks

It looks like the basic kit. Non-threaded shocks and dogbones. The chassis doesn't have the graphite look either.

The manual calls for gold body shocks. But blue versions (same shocks, different color) seem to be pretty common on T3's. Maybe a later run model?

It’s the RTR T3, basic version of a great truck.

it there a date or a date code on the car to see what year it's from?

I just don't remember when I bought this or how old it is.
