Hi, I am resotring my cougar 2000 and need to find replacement shock shafts for the rear vari shocks. I have successfully used the Tin coated schumacher big bore 47mm shafts for the front but need longer 55mm items for the rear. Does anyone know of a Tin coated 1/8" diameter 55mm long shock shaft that would fit? If not a standard non coated would be ok. Are team associated shock shafts 1/8" dia?

Modern B/T 6 series TiN shafts are 2.95mm / 0.116" in diameter.

I see. I doubt xray or yokomo would be imperial size. Perhaps its only schumacher that do 1/8" shock shafts.

Old Losi shock shafts are 1/8”... A-5062 Ti-Ni 1.2 shafts are 58mm and A-5064 Ti-Ni 1.0 shafts are 52mm

Brilliant! I have just ordered two of the 58mm units that should work fine. Darn expensive here in the UK however.

By the way, the pistons feel scratchy in the bores. Muzoom dont seem to be stockibng the PTFE pistons anymore. Does anyone know of a similar alternative?

Not well versed in my Schumacher but they rereleased the cougar? I think? Would those shock parts work?

There’s 2 options available through Schumacher for the vari shocks

https://www.racing-cars.com/spares/nitro-on-road/menace-gtr/one-piece-shock-pistons-4-sets-of-4-u2143
Both are standard piston replacements for the varishock click to change pistons. The second is a better option if you’re looking to run them as it’s 4 sets of 4 different pistons and is cheaper to start with. The top set is only a pair
