Hi and apologies if this has been asked before but I couldn't get anything useful from the search.

When was the first aftermarket Graphite or Carbon chassis released?
I went down a bit of a rabbit hole after making a comment regarding the JJ Ultima and wondered if that was the first time a graphite chassis was used in RC racing.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated and may form the basis of an excuse to buy another RC car :D

JG for the RC10 is the oldest I know of. Probably something before that though. 🤷🏻‍♂️

My best guess would be the one made by D&D Graphite and sold by Parma.

Thanks for your replies - do you know what year that would have come out?

Bolink listed graphite material and a chassis in their 1982 catalog, and I'm certain other onroad cars were using it well before that.
