These USA-1 NC's are both from Tower Hobbies, and were bought in 2000, they both have OS .21 RG motors, and haven't been run in nearly 20 years. I believe 2005 was the last time these ran. They are 100% complete, and were put away working. Both engines turn freely, and have compression still.

I'll refer to the Green USA-1 as #1, and the Orange as #2, they are nearly identical, but there are some differences; #1 has (8) Team Associated Hard Anodized shocks, #2 has some other shock brand I can't remember at the moment, please let me know if you can tell what those are.

Original boxes.

Lots of NOS parts.

These are titanium bulk heads, and aluminum roll bar and bumper parts.

I bought all of the parts to turn one of those into an Inferno MP5, which the USA-1 NC is based on, just never did.
Image

Lots of new mounting hardware too.

Unistart 2000 starter box.

I'm going to take these both apart, clean and restore them, and then figure out what bodies to put on them. Here are some fun choices from my collection.

Kyosho Fazer MK2 C10 Fleetside body from 2023.

Here's a fun one, Tamiya VW Bus.

RC10 added for scale effect, both considered 1/10 scale models.
Image

How about '66 C10, and '67 vette - joking on this, though it does look fun.

I really like the C10 body on #2, #1 will need something else.

Will get started on the tear down and cleaning soon.

The Tamiya Bus reminded me of the movie Rolling Vengeance:

I like the look of the snoop nose monster truck bodies... be funny to paint one to match your box art GT.

Oh... no... wait... snoop nose?! ...MONSTER BARON!!!

...all goofing around aside, there are some nice monster truck bodies available these days.

I've yet to see Rolling Vengance, but this does look like the monster Bus .

I still have (3) more new Tamiya VW Bus bodies, might make a monster Bus.

That snoop nose 1988 Silverado body from Jconcepts would be close.

If I could find a NOS vintage USA-1 body I would do that, but those are long gone.

Nice work on the custom paint job! :D Thanks @Dangeruss!
Image

I see they have the reissue USA-1 body, from 2021, pre-painted and for sale, but I never was one for conformity, or being obligated to paint it like the box.

My green body is really thin and brittle, I still have the front bumper that broke off, might be all the nitro it was soaked in for decades. Need to get the stock bodies out of the sun and store those, and use newer shelf bodies instead.

Shhhhh!! ...don't say that out loud... someone might hear you! :P

Rolling Vengeance is an excellent B-flick... like The Wraith, but with a monster truck!

Full movie is on YouTube:

A monster van would be cool... always liked the Boogey Van paint job

Boogy Van.JPG

There's a lot of directions for a VW monster van paint job... 60's psychedelic, post-apocalyptic, traditional monster truck, Herbie spinoff... google image search makes my heart race 🤪

I hear ya on thin and fragile bodies... but the new USA1 body is a lot longer than the original:

TBG repops the original USA-1 body though, so you could swap your existing chrome over to a newly painted shell.

....so many choices

I just looked through Team Blue Groove's site, they actually have the Boogey Van:

The USA-1 body looks pretty good. Might give one a try, but the other is getting the C10 or a Bus body.

Noticed they have the '69 Charger body too. Thanks @Dangeruss!
