The Hammerhead 1/10th scale truck was one of three models (Ironman, Hammerhead, Vortex) released by Model Rectifier Corporation in 1997 that rode on a lower cost version of the MT-10 platform. Under the street rod style truck body the Hammerhead shared the molded plastic chassis, plastic oil filled shocks, and plastic bushings of the MT-10 but MRC further cut costs by using plastic shock towers instead of fiberglass, fixed plastic camber links instead of adjustable turnbuckles and omitted the slipper clutch from the transmission. Available in kit and ready to run versions the RTR featured a painted body, 20 turn 540 motor, mechanical speed controller, Futaba Magnum Sport transmitter, and MRC 809 Super Brain battery charger:

Funny what you do and don't remember sometimes. MRC was really big on taking the back cover for their ads. Not the latest racing tech of the day but like you said, they looked cool.
