Took the hornet for a blast on the beach last night. Ended up doing some pulls with another dude who was running an x maxx. My hornet is positively tiny and slow compared to that, but it did great! After all that salt, it might be time for another teardown.

Id say you need to break that down pretty quickly, especially the electronics. Otherwise things will rust and get gross pretty quick.

Sand and salt are brutal on cars.

Anytime I took an R/C to the beach while on vacation in the '90s, I knew never to go near the water. It was tempting due to the wet sand being the best place to run but I had no way to really tear everything down immediately after so it stayed off-limits. The receiver also went in a plastic bag while running or I did the nylon stocking around the chassis trick.

Looks like you had fun though which is all that matters.

Wet sand is the only place the hornet wont get stuck. Plus, it's the best surface I've ever found to run on. Perfect amount of traction to make power sliding easy but completely controlled. The hornet is perfect because I can have it rebuilt in no time. I've done it 3 or 4 times already, what's another if it means a bunch of fun! (also, that reciever tip is real. Mine is wrapped in saran wrap and I've had it completely submerged in water with zero issues)

Small balloons are perfect! They appear to have been designed for the purpose

R/C companies even sold balloons for receiver protection I discovered later in life. I got all my beach running tips from RCCA.

Just hose her of with fresh water , rinse and repeat
