In 1990 Traxxas unveiled its first pro-level racing vehicle, the Eagle TRX-T. Only a year into organized truck competitions, originally named the "Monster Truck" class, a moniker that would take years to evolve into "Stadium Truck", Traxxas reached into the Blue Bird Mfg. Co. parts bin and pulled out a ringer. While the Bullet was Traxxas' first move into competition vehicles and the Radicator was designed to be optioned up to competition spec, the Eagle came out of the box with every conceivable racing option of the era. Using the gold alloy/white nylon constructed Bullet as a base, with its four-wheel independent lower a-arm/adjustable upper camber link suspension, the Eagle ticked all the "yes, please" option boxes. Starting with a .10 longer graphite chassis with molded in 30 degree kickup and side rails, longer suspension arms/turnbuckles front and rear, longer travel gold anodized coilover shocks at all four corners, graphite shock towers fore and aft, as well as a direct steering system with Kimbrough style servo saver up front and externally adjustable ball diff transmission with aluminum motor plate in the rear. Also included in the unassembled kit were 2.2 truck wheels with revised offset fronts to take advantage of the longer suspension arms, tall spike racing truck tires, full bearings, and a clear lexan Chevy S-10 body, less radio and electronics:
