Oh yeah it's been on there about week. Kinda flying blind on what we will get, only some basic pics so far. I nabbed a preorder though, I'll risk it.

I know that feeling. I have this and a DS coming in to my LHS. The amount of reres I've bought this year is getting out of hand.

Thank you for the post. If you have a point of reference can you speak to the differences for the carryover parts? I'm thinking materials and quality in particular, but any other insights appreciated.

The diff and rear shaft comparison would be good too

I'll post some more photographs, when I get a chance. Overall though the quality is very good, it is a unique buggy and is unlike anything I've experienced before - the chassis for example is literally made of black Kydex which is the same material that the 870c and latter buggies bumpers were made off.

The only carry over parts from other Yokomo buggies are the steering bellcranks. The kit comes pre-built which is apparently how it came back when it was first released. I'll probably tear it down after I've given it a fist run - I'm interested to see how the rear diff and and gearbox function along with the chain drive.
Overall I'm quite happy with it, it is expensive but it is the only early Yokomo I've not had any experience off and is a very unique buggy. It feels and looks quite primitive but I guess at the time was a big step.

Mine will still be a while I'm sure, but what I'm seeing is that they changed all the large screws to 3mm. The front bulkhead for example was 2 large screws (I'd swear they were 8-32 but more likely 4mm) and now use 4 3mm screws. The battery tray also went from large to small screws as well as the rear trailing arm mounts. It will be interesting to see how the new chassis overlays onto the old one.

They've also gone for the early rear arm design with less reinforcement and the early front lower arms As well as an additional screw in the gearbox forward of the mono shock bell crank mounts or are the mounts also removable ?
