in 1996 Team Losi updated their 1/10 2wd electric off-road buggy with a new model called, the XX CR. The "CR" was created using a myriad of hop ups the factory team had implemented on their race cars. The 3-piece molded composite plastic "G-Tunnel" chassis with raised side pods, hinged front bulkhead, and chassis reinforcing upper brace that rotated out of the way for servicing remained, however a plastic battery strap replaced the velcro previously used and a new bolt-in rear pivot plate/support block with 3 degrees of toe-in supplanted the previous 0-degree components. The XX's long front suspension received new a-arms with provisions for a sway bar mount as well as updated 25-degree camber blocks and bearing integrated spindles, though turnbuckle/bellcrank steering system with built in servo saver and Ackerman adjustable drag link remained unchanged. The rear bulkhead, composite rear shock tower, fiberglass plate front shock tower and Hard Body, teflon coated, oil-filled aluminum coilovers with adjustable collars were retained as well with the exception of softer springs all around. The rear h-arms would gain an additional shock mounting hole and 0-degree rear hub carriers would take the place of the previously used 3-degree carriers. The XX's laydown, ball diff, 2.19, 3-gear, Hydra-Drive equipped transmission was unmodified, but its steel universal style axles output power to new 5-spoke wheels with Silver Compound IFMAR Pin rear tires and Gold Compound Wide Body front tires. Full bearings and a new, lower profile, clear lexan body with V-Wing topped the kit off which was sold unassembled, less radio and electronics:
