Orange, or Blue?

As much as I love Blue, I'm leaning towards Orange on this one.

I prefer the blue, if that's what you're asking. I see the blue VW in the background though, so you may prefer to have orange instead.

Thanks for the votes!

I do have a bit too much blue on the shelf, with three models, was what I was thinking. The Sand Scorcher being the boxart TS-10 French Blue, could be a nice match to a blue Rough Rider, or not enough variety. If this is the toughest decision I have to make all week, I'm thankful.

I usually do orange just because I'm a main box art slave. However the Rough Rider's body always seemed closer to the blue Bel-Ray Bullet than to Bob Maynard's orange buggy in my eyes (with the understanding Tamiya tweaked the body dimensions to fit around their radio crate).

I never knew the boxart for these were based on real vehicles, thanks for this!

Wish I could use these 1.5" Centerlines on this project, but the Rough Rider (Buggy Champ) has the 1.7" wheels.

For me it's orange all the way.
And, I were building a Buggy Champ, I'd ditch the radio box, mount the battery to the chassis plate lengthwise and mod the body so the sides roll under like the box art. :wink:

Orange feels right. Will also get a vintage/repro decal sheet.

Found a set of Centerlines for the 1.7" Tamiya wheels. Had to do it.

Cool! My very first RC vehicle was painted orange and white so maybe I'm a little biased.
I think I have a set of those wheels. Adding a set of alloys to any RC brings it up a notch.

Just went looking for a vintage Rough Rider decal sheet/repro, and no one has it.

MCI only has this sheet - no KC smiley stickers, no Penzoil, no anything vintage. I'll contact them and ask why.
