Got my GE today. The USPS kept it for an extra day at my local office, presumably to beat up the box a bit longer. This came from less than 3 hours away, from Amain.

3 out of 4 corners smashed.

Contents of the box are in factory shape.

Wheels and tires are not exactly like the Pro-Line, a bit wider, and not rounded off as much.
Image

No chrome knockoffs? :x

Only chassis to have 60 on it, so far.

If they weren't going to do the light gold/green of the very first RC10 prototypes, I like this dark green color they picked. Just wish the shocks matched, only real complaint.

Will order a bearing kit for this, and the MIP CVD's should be here soon.

Sorry the box got damaged, I hate when that happens. Can you tell if the chassis is anodized green? Looks nice.

That bearing kit has the wrong size bearings for the front wheels assuming the green edition wheels are same as the Halsey wheels. Ask me how I know

Also, nice Marantz.

Thanks! I tried just the Rit Dyemore Peacock Green.

And that color green is more Christmas Sweater green, parts on the right side.
Image

Mixed some Graphite in there and made it Christmas tree green, or like the color of Christmas light wires, that darker army green.

Mixed in some graphite parts to give it a different look. We'll see how it looks assembled, soon.

Sorry to hear you had a problem with the JJH bearing kit. Another Marantz fan, sweet! Those old 70's stereos just need new capacitors and a few known-bad transistors, and they will run another 50 years. Incredibly warm fidelity from the old units, the martini hour sound, was what I've heard the old Marantz called a few times.

I checked my Fast Eddy's GE kit, the OD fits well, are you saying the ID is wrong?

Is there a micro-texture to these green tubs/nose plates?

I bought a different company bearing kit, maybe your kit is right. This guy explains in his description, if yours are correct, they are, sorry to confuse.

That's why I always buy the Fast Eddy's kits, not sure if they cost more than anyone else, but out of more than a dozen RC's that I have bought bearings for in the last year, not one error or missing part from Fast Eddy's. They are in El Dorado, CA, just over an hour from here, get them the next day after ordering.

What I need to do is check to see if the front wheels are 1.5" Tamiya SRB front wheels, and if they use the Tamiya sized bearings, as that's what the original '85 IFMAR JJH car actually used, as well as Team CRP front axles that fit the Tamiya bearing ID to the RC10.

I used it just buy bulk from Avid and have a huge stash of bearings for $1 a bearing but I got lazy and usually buy kits now too. I have used Fast Eddy and others. I am assuming the OG Tamiya wheels were a metric size, maybe Jay just shoved the SAE bearing in it to fit the axles back in day. Not really sure, just thinking out loud.
