A pair of Micro RS4s.

A little while back I was digging through some old boxes and found my Micro RS4. I bought this with my first paycheck from my first job out of high school. Haha. Over time it had a lot of mods thrown at it. It's held up okay but the body, not so much.

It still has the oldschool coreless motor in it. This was before brushless was even on anyone's RADAR. Brushed coreless was supposed to be the future. Well, that didn't last long. Haha. Servo was updated to an HS-851MG, ESC to a Losi MSC2000RB for the LiPo compatibility. 3D printed a battery box and am using 2s 900MAh packs.

I got a new body for it from Bluegroove and the decals from MCI but the decals were totally wrong. Just nowhere even close to the original decal set for the car. So I found an OEM body with the original decals and paid way too much money for it and got it painted up to match the original, which was based on the box art for the Super Touring Dodge Stratus.

When all was said and done, I had picked up a parts lot or two that had enough new, OEM parts to build a whole 'nother car from nothing but parts, so I did that too! It's got an HS-81 steering servo, a Tamiya-branded Hobbywing 1060 and the same battery box and 2s 900MAh LiPo as the first car. 150mm wheelbase on this one using the Team XRay Ferrari 360 body from the M18.

Two Micro RS4s! These are such great little cars. I wish they'd make a comeback. The market is primed for it and micros are super popular again.

Awesome micros! I love the purple hop up parts. That was a really interesting time for RC, sort of the first wave of micros. Electronics were finally getting small enough to be practical in minis and they were hugely popular for a little while.

Haha. Absolutely. Just the fact that they were designed around a full-sized standard servo for steering as a structural component of the car says a lot about the era they were released into!

Ha! Fun size RC. I forgot about those. I had 2 for racing in the basement- one for me and one for visitors.
