Kyosho replaced it's 1/8 4wd Burns (MP-1 & MP-2) off-road gas buggies in 1991 with the new Inferno (SP-3) model, subsequently releasing updated versions to suit a multitude of racers as this lineup from 1993 displays:

Turbo Inferno: Released in 1993 as an upgraded version of the Inferno. The MP-4 Turbo inferno received a blue anodized chassis, new lower front h-arms with an additional shock mounting hole, blue anodized aluminum oil filled coilover shocks with clip in spring preload adjustment, front and rear sway bars, o-ring sealed differential cases, locked center diff and green molded plastic rear wing with matching green wheels inside W5646H tires.

Inferno DX: Released in 1992 as an entry level version of the Inferno. The DX would be sold as a partially assembled kit featuring non-countersunk chassis screws and additional holes for mounting of a GS21-CR engine, plastic exhaust pipe, nylon shocks, cast aluminum gears with only 2 bevel gears in each diff, dogbone front axles, single disk brake, full bushings and a screw top gas tank.

Inferno ST: Released in 1992 as a stadium truck version of the DX. The truck came with the same non-countersunk chassis screws and additional holes for mounting of a GS21-CR engine, plastic exhaust pipe, nylon shocks, cast aluminum gears with only 2 bevel gears in each diff, dogbone front axles, single disk brake, full bushings, a screw top gas tank as well as a front brush guard and stadium truck body.

Inferno 10: Released in 1993 as a 1/10 version of the Inferno. The Inferno 10 used Kyosho's Lazer ZX front and rear lower a-arm/turnbuckle adjustable camber link suspension mounted to a blue anodized chassis and featured a shaft driven 4-wheel drive system with bevel gear diffs and dogbone axles. The buggy came with plastic bodied oil filled coilover shocks, bushings, a flip top fuel tank, clear lexan body, molded plastic wing, and was available with or without an O.S. CZ-R .12 engine.
