Kyosho Monster Trucks 1997

Kyosho's decade long commitment to Monster Truck lovers was hard to deny in this two-page spread from 1997 displaying their range of 2WD, 4WD, Electric, and Nitro powered kits:

USA-1 - 1/10 4wd electric Monster Truck released in 1990. Based off the Big Brute. Dual motor, molded ABS tub chassis and symmetrical 4-wheel H-arm/adjustable camber independent suspension. Kimbrough servo saver with adjustable tie rod four-wheel steering system from the Double Dare Monster truck. Aluminum shock towers, black plastic coilover friction shocks. Brush guard, transverse battery mount, and rear motor guard from The Double Dare. Twin motors bolted to split case gearboxes with gear diff transmissions leading to plastic dog ear driveshafts and metal axles from the Double Dare. Single piece chrome finished plastic wheels and 66/43/25 chevron pattern tires. Chevrolet Silverado clear lexan body with chrome bumpers, grille, twin tube roll bar, off-road lights, mirrors and triple Predator style carburetors with air cleaners, top covers, and full set of USA-1 decals. Sold as an unassembled kit with bushings, twin Mega 360 motors and a rotary mechanical speed controller, less radio.

USA-1 Nitro Crusher - 1/8 4wd nitro Monster Truck released in 1990. Based on the 1/8 Burns 4wd 0ff-road buggy. Equipped with a plate aluminum chassis and nylon constructed four-wheel independent, camber adjustable, double a-arm suspension. Twin bellcrank steering system with spring loaded servo saver and adjustable tie rods under an aluminum plate that held all the trucks electronics. Midship .21 engine used a centrifugal clutch, pinion and spur primary drive and centrally mounted bevel gear diff along with a pair of metal dog bones feeding the front and rear mounted bevel gear differentials housed inside sealed gearcases that doubled as suspension bulkheads. Steel front universal axles, rear dogbones, aluminum front knuckles and nylon rear hub carriers. Tall aluminum plate shock towers held eight Kelron bodied, oil-filled coilover shock absorbers on extended lower shock pivots. Aluminum finished nylon wheels and 6.5x4.13x3-0-KC chevron pattern tires. Highly detailed clear lexan 1990 Chevrolet Silverado body with chrome bumpers, grille, twin tube roll bar, off-road lights, mirrors and triple Predator style carburetors with air cleaners, top covers, and full set of USA-1 decals. Disk brake system, mini front bumper, fuel tank, muffler, and a combination of bearings and metal bushings also included in the unassembled kit however it did not include the required OS-21 RFB or ENYA 21 CXL engine, radio, or electronics.

Tracker - 1/10 2wd electric Monster Truck released in 1993. Based off the 1/10 2wd Ultima II off-road buggy. Kelron chassis, four-wheel independent lower a-arm and fixed camber link suspension system, tall molded plastic shock towers, long plastic bodied oil-filled coilover shocks. Forward support plate sandwiched twin bellcrank steering with built-in servo saver, adjustable tie rods, inline steering blocks and carriers with height and Akerman adjustment. Upper radio tray mounted the electronics and transverse battery. 48-pitch transmission with a bevel gear differential, aluminum motor plate and rear guard. Steel dogbones, white high offset, 2.2 inch Monster Truck wheels and 120/58/56 V-Tread tires. A clear lexan Chevrolet 1500 body with chrome grille, bumpers, roll bar and offroad lights, tall body mounts, rotary speed controller, Mabuchi RS550H motor and bushings were included with the unassembled kit sold less radio.

Hi-Rider II Corvette - 1/10 2wd electric Monster Truck released in 1995. Based on the Tracker Monster Truck. Kelron chassis, four-wheel independent lower a-arm and fixed camber link suspension system, tall molded plastic shock towers, long plastic bodied oil-filled coilover shocks. Forward support plate sandwiched twin bellcrank steering with built-in servo saver, adjustable tie rods, inline steering blocks and carriers with height and Akerman adjustment. Upper radio tray mounted the electronics and transverse battery. 48-pitch transmission with a bevel gear differential, aluminum motor plate and rear guard. Steel dogbones, chrome finished 2.2 inch Monster Truck wheels and 120/58/56 V-Tread tires. A clear lexan Chevrolet Corvette body with chrome supercharger, rotary speed controller, Mabuchi RS550H motor and bushings were included with the unassembled kit, sold less radio.

Nitro Tracker - 1/10 2wd nitro Monster Truck released in 1995. Based on the electric Tracker Monster Truck. Molded Kelron chassis, 4-wheel independent suspension with lower a-arms and fixed camber links, twin bellcranks steering, built-in servo saver and fixed tie rods. Chassis stiffening forward brace attached the steering to the bulkhead. Tall plastic shock towers and oil filled plastic bodied coilover Sport Shocks. GT-12S-CR pull start engine, pinion and spur primary drive, and bevel gear differential equipped transmission. Steel dogbones, chrome finished 2.2 inch Monster Truck wheels and 120/58/56 V-Tread tires. A clear lexan Chevrolet 1500 body with chrome grille, bumpers, roll bar and offroad lights. Tall body mounts, flip top gas tank, muffler and bushings were included with the unassembled kit, sold less radio.
