In 1997 Kyosho released a 2wd electric off-road buggy called the Stadium Baja Beetle. Finding yet another way to create a new model using existing componentry Kyosho took the body off their 1/10 2wd Outrage Stadium Truck and installed the body from their recently released Field Baja Beetle to make a lower and more nimble electric version. Bridging the gap between buggy and stadium truck the Beetle took advantage of its molded Kelron chassis and Ultima based lower a-arm 4-wheel independent suspension with fixed camber links pared to the twin bellcrank steering with a built-in servo saver and fixed tie rods. A forward brace from the front bulkhead to the steering system and an upper radio plate provided additional chassis stiffness as well as a location for the electronics and transverse mounted battery. Oil filled plastic bodied coilover shocks with spring adjustment clips were fastened to the front and rear shock towers. Kyosho's steel motor plate equipped counter gear transmission with its bevel gear differential and steel dogbones spun the high offset yellow nylon monster truck wheels shod in 510/100/62 Ribbed front tires and 540/100/62 Pin Spike rears. Topped off by the Nitro Beetle's clear lexan body with spring loaded camlock body mounts, a mechanical speed controller, Mabuchi RS540SH motor, and bushings were included with the unassembled kit, sold less radio:
