I had a bigfoot one with weedeater motor in it,big handtruck tires and wheels on it.It was a blast til kept tearin out axles lol.Don

I did a resoration on a jeep a couple of years ago for my daughter. My neighbor was throwing it away, so I decided to use some of the RC skills on this project. I did the 18v conversion along with a couple of other things The after pictures were takes before I installed the headlights.

Here is my daughters hopped-up ride.
It started out as a 6v barbie vw. The Single gearbox transmits power to both wheels.
For stage 1 I replaced the wimpy 18g stock wiring harness with all 12g wire, fully-soldered. I added a resistor inline with the brake circuit to soften the braking action a little. I also added a fan that turns on when the motors are running, and a traxxas heatsink to keep the motor cool.
Stage 2 involved adding a second powerwheels battery to give it 12V Stage 3 was even more fun. Eventually the rectangle plastic bushing that transmits power from the one motor through the axle to the other wheel cracked under the power of 12V, so there was only one option to fix it:
I hacked the left side of the chassis, fabbed a mounting bracket and added a second gearbox and motor. Now the single motor 6v slowpoke is rolling with dual motors and 12V, quite the screamer. I have since cleaned up the wires, and changed the connectors over to powerpoles. The advantage of the powerpoles is that since the +/- housings can be separated I can have both batteries in series, or disconnect one alltogether and connect only 6v for the smaller kids who want to drive. I have also added a 30 amp circuit breaker for added security, even though the PW batteries are supposed to have one built in.

My daughter also has a PW jeep. That one is a 2-seater unlike the little beetle above which only fits 1. The jeep has been unmolested, but may be getting an 18v upgrade this summer.
