That's the way stadium racing should've gone... Not those small bodied cartoon trucks of today. It's why I'm getting one of those Traxxas Slash trucks coming out.

I agree.

I raced a regional in Las Vegas a LONG time ago. Jack Johnson and Kyle Reed were the fast guys, to give you an idea of the era. It was a truck only race, and the only way to run a 2WD chassis is if it had a truck body on it. So I ran my JRX2 with the Proline Nissan Hardbody stadium truck (which had fender flares that would cover the tires) and had a blast. I wish that is where the truck class had gone. I am still on the hunt for that body if anybody knows where I could find one?

Their ONLY downside is that they are essentially parachutes when they jump. With today's style SuperCross off road tracks, they'd be even more a nightmare to handle in the air (than the difficulty I already have managing the flight of a contemporary off road car).

But I agree, the truck class should ALWAYS have looked like this, right from the start. It's too bad this body and the Associated Toyota aren't more available... there would be a nice fit in 4wd in some vintage racing. ;)

Awesome!

I cannot recall ever seen one of those in Germany. Maybe only a few of us Krauts  know about the trophy trucks so it was not distributed here ... :|

I still have two of the mounting kits (bumpers, body mounts, etc) for the XX4 just waiting for the body. I dropped the ball and let one of the bodies slip through my fingers in the Eagle Distributing frenzy and I seriously regret it. :(

I'd love to score one of those Nissan bodies too! I have the Associated Toyota still new in the bag for use someday. I also sent an email to Gary McCallister and he still sells his Toyota SR-5 too, you just need to ask him for it. I'm hoping the Associated Toyota will fit the Traxxas Slash when I get it for a different look.

It wouldn't be so bad if you cut parts of the windows out or a section of the bed.

I guess if I actually ran my stuff, I would use the excuse that I am to use the body as a jounce bumper in an effort to keep the bottom of my chassis from getting all narfed up after I land a jump.

Problem is, that body has poor support in the center (cab) section....if you were to cut windows or bed parts out, it would be even worse.

An undertray the width of the body MAY help some, but there is still the parachute effect in the wheel openings.

Other problem with this truck body is no rear downforce, I had a huge buggy wing on the rear of the body...didnt help much.

McAllister still has the ironman toyota body too. I just had one come in the other day. I need to see if it looks good on a 2WD, as I originally bought it for a JRXT.
