I have a feeling this year is gonna be an interesting race. Seeing if the facilities can handle the amount of racers, seeing how many people run in each class, how to break them all up, seeing people like me try to remember things they haven't had to use in 15 years, and a million other things we couldn't possibly think of in advance. Kind of getting all the kinks worked out on the spot. I'm sure Mark and Erich have it under control though. I think it's gonna be a blast. Then, in a couple years when everything runs super-smooth and we all know each other's face and greet each other with a big smile on the first day, we'll all look back and say "remember the first year we tried this...." and be all nostalgic for the good old days.

What am I talking about? The thing hasn't even happened and I'm getting nostalgic already. I'm excited, I feel like a kid in the week before Christmas.

Looking at pictures of the Pit area, there are at least 48+ pit spots, if everyone cooperates and take only one spot and one chair, we can fit a lot of people in there, the problem lies when people put their toolboxes on the chairs, and take two spots to put their cars, etc, etc, if we all do our part, and just use the one pit area assigned to us, we should have room.

I'm bringing two folding tables.

I counted the pits and there were well over 50. Every one of them has its on outlet and even its own chair! I've been to SOOOOO many races over the years that I knew everything I wanted in a facility for the race and RCHR is by far the best. Mark and Jon have been racing for years and years too and they've done a KILLER job with not only putting the shop together but getting ready for the race. I'm REALLY excited to finally meet a lot of you. See you all on Friday night!

I'd say the best thing to do is call Mark at the shop. He should be there today.

Run to the LHS for a tamiya plasma edge body. I got one and made a quick test fit on my mid project; it will be perfect.

My closest hobbyshop is an hour away and doesn't have much tamiya. does the hobbyshop at the vintage nationals stock those bodies?

What is a good place to start for final drive ratio for 27t brushed motors for either buggy or truck tires?
I've got the blue can trinity motor and nimh batteries.
This is the last detail to iron out before packing everything up.
Thanks!

I was running my Losi XX with a 88 spur and 22 pinion, with the Slot Machine and 3300 and 4600 nimh and it was plenty quick :D cleared every jump they had out there

So I can't wait to slap the Trinity CO27 on the buggy, it's gonna fly :D

P.S. and we were also racing 6 min qualifiers and 8 min mains and the old slot machine with that gear ratio was going strong.

You must be talking 48pitch? Still running 32p here....
Can't wait to get in a few laps on Saturday. Someone hold a pit spot for me???

Oh- any word on registration? Is pre-registration available? I hope to be there by 10am Saturday-- depends on traffic. Ooooooh boy!

Ive seen the Associated Viper and Protech on some of the old Optimas as a decent replacement. They surely would have those in stock.
