Are there any Dual Sport wheel/tire options?

Does anybody know of any tire and wheel options for the Dual Sport other than TC and the stock stuff? I'd like to find some nice looking wheels and decent rubber for my runner. The pickings seem pretty slim for actual DS stuff, and nice ones are getting expensive. Is there anything else that will work and is readily available?

Find yourself some two bolt pan car adapters from Bolink or Twinn K. Also you could go direct with Bolink wheels, as they made some direct fit to RC10. I know that they are very easy to find, but they might be cheaper than OE Associated parts. As for new stuff, that is something I don't know much about.

Can I get rubber tires for pan car wheels? I'm pretty much lost when it comes to pans cars, or on-road sruff in general for that matter. From the little experience I have with foam, they don't seem to last very long under bashing conditions.

Thanks for the info. :D

a set of custom works wheels might work, along with their rubber "street type" tread tires. the front would probably work ok, but the rears might have a liittle too much negative offset.

i know guys are using them on ds's for the dirt oval "bomber" classes, so they should work ok.

I'd put a full set of Proline DirtHawg's on a dual sport setup. Probably not the most optimal dirt traction, but it'd work OK.

you may already know, but you can buy traxxas hex adapters for the rear, and traxxas hubs & carriers for the front, and run standard touring car wheels all the way around. There are instructions on associated's web site.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm checking out some of the possibillities. Still wondering about the pan car adapters. Which wheels would I need, and can I get rubber tires on pan car wheels? I'm also concerned about traction, I am putting a pretty powerful motor in this thing. TC wheels would be the easy way to go, especialy for looks, but I wonder if there would be enough traction running TC wheels on a RWD car. Anyone tried it?

hello Justin,

I know that you're looking for rubber tires, but incase you decide to try some foams, I have a set of bolink wheels for an rc10 that will work for you. The rear is direct bolt on and the front accepts a 5X11 mm bearing...just let me know what size bearings you currently run and I'll install the correct adapter.

The wheels are in really good condition and I've just mounted a set of new foams a couple of weeks ago.

Scr8p hit the nail on the head, you can use custom works wheels and rubber tires, custom works foams, or RC4less has foams that are a bit more inexpensive in every compound under the sun. if you do go that route you will need the custom works rear wheel spacers to get rid of some of the positive offset of the wheels. here's a link to the spacers from tower:

it's a good setup, it's what I use on my DS for my dirt oval bomber class.

What they said, and no you can't mount rubber tires on pan car wheels. They have no channel for the bead of the tire and are a different diameter. best option is to go the custom works wheels then get proline road hogs or CW tires which are just the older proline street tires

proline used to make pan car wheels for rubber tires back in the day. hard to find now, though.

The CW wheels seem like they would work perfect, but there is one problem, they are fugly! Are there any different ones than the black dishes?

RC4LESS has them in orange, but only for foams.

just put some wheel dots on the black ones if you don't like the color. that's what the d.o. guys do.
