Yep, TA01 gearboxes and looks like TA04 suspension arms. If you like that you'll love this

Great to see these car being run properly, and love the updates on them. I guess the Gallop isn't running the one ways then. Chrome wheels seem to be very popular

I love that there are always so many pics to document the vintage r/c events in japan. Also looks like one better not show up without a highly detailed body. Concourse runners are sexy.

Wow! What an assortment of strange and wonderful machines. In pic 10 and 11 the RC10 is an amazing piece and I wonder if he dreamed that up himself or was that some design that was in existence in the early 90's. I see it has a MIP 4wd system but what is the front shock treatment. Is that an aftermarket part that was available back then? Great pics of this vintage event, truly amazing.

To start with the last question: Aku said the laid-down shock was just for 'surprise'. It is home-made and refers somewhat of his favourite chaindrive yok's.
the frog in terry's link and the TA01 grashopper (hornet actually?) are no stand-alone examples. Those re-re's are a cheapish base for many conversions. There was a hornet with belt 4wd from the same owner also.
I don't know if the chrome wheels are really so popular it's just a matter of what was left in stock at the hobby-shops.
Another favorite are the tamiya wheels of ... gravelhound ? not sure. The main reason for using these is the newer wheels have smaller offsets.
Glad you guys enjoy the pics, sorry there's not more action pics: I was tooling on- and running my own cars

Erik, Something that I have always wondered..... just at there are a lot of AE and Losi parts on the shelves of the LHSs in the US, is the situation the same in Japan with Kyosho and Tamiya products? I assuming so due to the number of vintage cars being actively run over there.

Jay, there are many parts on the shelves, but never the ones you need.
The shop I usually go to is part of a chian and they have a section with old and 2nd hand parts. But these parts are for so many different cars, going from real vintage to just yesterdays model touringcar.
I still have to see the first scorpion parts on a shelf here , but you see so many at the events.
My best guess is that a lot of what you see in the meetings comes through the yahoo auctions site.
