Some recent Losi projects
I got a couple builds slowly started since moving to the new house. I hadn't planned on getting any of the losi molded chassis cars as they were released after I got out of rc the first time. I wound up with some hop-up parts for them via larger purchases for my other projects. I also came across a couple good deals on rollers that I planned to just use for parts, but you know how that goes.
The first is an LXT, mostly stock with the exception of the retrofit trans, and titanium turnbuckles.
Does anyone know who made the front tires? there are no markings on them. The rears are proline, but I've never seen unmarked prolines. The blue battery foam is made from some craft foam sheet. Blue is all I had(leftover from making a pad for the battery in my all-blue GT), but I'm going to try to get some to match the pink of the steering arms/antenna mount. Next I'll have to come up with a body, is there anything currently available that fits without mods? This second car is a pro-SE. It has lots of NIP goodies: RPM tall upper brace, front spindles/hd carriers, rod ends, and rear hinge pin holder, Ball bearing steering by mip, losi super slider universals, and a Pure-tech battery strap.
recycled hop-ups include RCPS turnbuckles, titanium hinge pins(lunsford I think based on the rear hub spacers), litespeed motor plate, and a slot machine motor.
I think I may change the antenna mount out for a black one and look for some yellow springs and spur gear as there are too many colors going on as it is now. the body is a Bearrickster 8042. I'm undecided on what wing to use, but may pick up a BRP wing like the bi-level.
Thanks for looking.

Re: Some recent Losi projects
the fronts on your lxt are prolines (pn. 7045). they actually came with the early rc10t team truck kits.
they are temple's "holy grail".

I used the HPI 7173 Dodge ram body I think it fit ok. all I did was change out the front mount with a Jrxt / Junior T and XX4 wing mounts for the rear mount drilled a couple of holes in the rear shock tower and they bolded right up. here is a picture. I love the Pro

Re: Some recent Losi projects
The XXTCR body fits pretty darn good with the stock mounts. Hard to find a body that fits in that stupid recess on the rear shock tower. XXT can fit with some trimming, but the other doesn't require any. Horizon, and Losipartshouse.com had the body in stock last time I checked.

Re: Some recent Losi projects
I had same problem when I was building a pro SE. Changing the rear springs and the antenna mount will help even out the color. You can also use an A&L bellcrank...just use the same bearing size as the wheel. I remember that magic motorsports had florescent gears, but I couldn't find any. What turned out really well was using a losi 88 lime green spur gear. The color wasn't perfect, but it looked pretty good with the other parts.aconsola wrote: I think I may change the antenna mount out for a black one and look for some yellow springs and spur gear as there are too many colors going on as it is now

Re: Some recent Losi projects
Anthony, I still have a Dahm's Commando XL body that will fit your LXT (or a JrxT/Junior T), it's marked for both styles of rear mounting. I'm putting together a lot of Losi stuff for the BST in a day or two if you are interested.

Hi aconsola
Just wondering what slipper clutch assembely you have on the Losi's? I have seen these types fitted to YZ10s, would be interesting in trying this out.
Thanks,
Andy

Re: Some recent Losi projects
They are the stock slippers that came with the LXT and Pro SE. I can't say that I have never seen a Losi slipper on a Yok. Not saying it is not possible, just never seen it done before.
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

Re: Some recent Losi projects
So I guess you could fit a hydra-drive to a YZ10 that'd be pretty cool...
Re: Some recent Losi projects
did losi make a hydra drive shaft for yokes? I know from when I worked in the hobby store in 94-98 they made A LOT of shafts for different cars, for some reason we had 2 of every one (Idid the ordering)

Re: Some recent Losi projects
I have slowly made some progress on this one. (My Next project is to find a spot for my light box to take some decent pictures of everything)
I added losi flourescent yellow springs, the front were cut down slightly as losi does not make short yellows, at least none that I could find.
I changed out the antenna mount for a black one, put fresh tires on and covered up the non-matching spur gear with an RPM hydra drive/slipper gear cover
I mounted the xx wing, but the "pre-bent" wing wire snapped on one side at the bend as I was bending it into place.
Good eough to sit on the shelf though, so I am not wasting another one.
