I was 12 when the first RC10 buggies were being produced, and I barely knew that hobby-grade RCs existed at the time. Fast forward to the year 2000 and I finally get into the hobby myself. Since that time I've had a thing for buggies. I've had a XXX-Spec(my first "race" buggy), a couple B4s and six 1/8 buggies. Since I've been in the hobby, I've wanted a vintage RC10 but always seemed to be spending the money on other stuff. Well, last week I finally picked up my first RC10. I don't think I'll be doing a full restoration on it, but maybe more of a custom-resto job. I don't plan on running this one, but am already thinking of getting another to kick up some dirt with. Anyway, here are some pics of the buggy. So far I've done nothing to it. I haven't even blown the dust off. BTW, the buggy cost me $15.

I know almost nothing about these buggies, but I know that this has a few aftermarket parts including the aluminum wheels(never glued up), aluminum steering set-up, Andy's front arms and bumper.

hard to find steering bell cranks, those front rims are nice too.

welcome aboard mate, you'll find all the answers to your questions here. Very nice score/steal, your wheels are T&A (at least the fronts, not sure of the rear though) and the bellcranks are Losi RPS!

I wish it had a set of matching wheels, but for the price I'm not going to complain. I'll just keep an eye out for a matching pair of either style.

Anyone know of a place to find tires to fit these older wheels?

Are these bellcranks a big deal? I know Losi used to make hop-ups for Associated stuff, but that's as far as my knowledge on these goes.

Your bellcranks are made by Losi, just FYI.

i saw a pair of those bellcranks go for 60.00 in an auction i was watching on ebay...

Now, another question... I'd like to figure the age on this buggy. Assuming the rear shock tower is the original(single upper shock mount holes), would that put this in the '84-'85 production time span?

those dont look too hard to make on the mill. might even be fun.

Yes! Also the original '84 cars had trailing front axles and a rear bulkhead that only had the outer patch of camber links and deep wing tube mounts, just like your car has. Those front Andy's arms were some of the first long arm designs. Classic club racer style, just a few hop-ups, but always the critical ones

Hmmmm, I paid $60 for my NIP Losi cranks a while back.
I thought it was alot then but definitely feel like I got a deal now.
