What Controllers Does everyone use, for vintage or new?

for AM, i use a old Futaba Attack Stick to bang around (gets the job done lol)

for FM, i use a airtronics M8

For Digital/SPektrum, i use a Sanwa EXZES Stick..

Right now I am using a Jr RacingXR2, I will hopefully be upgrading soon.

I'm using Futaba Magnums. Decent radios for what I do. When I grow up I want an M8 too.

I've had three radios in 25 years. Kraft KP3KW 3-channel AM (best radio EVER), Futaba Magnum Sr AM and my current Spektrum-based Futaba 3PK. It's a do-all radio and I've been really happy with it. The learning curve with it is steep, but once you learn what the radio can do, it's awesome.

i have a couple different radio systems. my old aristo-craft challenger 250, 3 different futaba magnum jr's, one old airtronics system i got with a car from ebay, and a couple ko propo ex-5's.

i'd have to say that the ko ex-5's are probably my favorite. they're just so comfortable when your holding them. they fit like a glove, so to speak.

i just picked up a futaba 3pm 2.4ghz fasst radio system last week to move into the 21st century. it's gonna feel weird not having to grab a frequency clip at the track.

It's FANTASTIC!!!! I love the fact that you can troubleshoot or putter around with the car and not worry about who's on what frequency. I don't miss that part of RC stuff one bit!

When I first started I had a Challenger (brown Futaba JR Ripoff) I think it was called.

Then I went to a Magnum Junior

From there I went to a regular trapazoidal shaped (newer model) Magnum

Now I have a Futaba 3PK with Spektrum on Doug's recommendation but I have no idea how the hell to use it.

Since I got my Jr, back in 19...(last century), I've been running a Futaba PCM 1024. Over the years, I've accumilated 5-6 of them. I know that it isn't the best anymore, but I still love it.

I use a 3-pj super with spektrum module. like the 3pk, this has way more stuff than I could ever use. I'm thinking about getting a 3-pk because of the bigger screen and backlight.

I have had all versions of magnums and prefer the original boxy one.

My current am radio is a 2-pl which is nice for running the vintage cars as it has 10 model memory so I can swap crystals and profiles to easliy switch from one car to the other. I also have an attack 2dr for the occasional 2-stick whim.

We have a spektrum dx3 which is mostly for the kids, this works well and would be my primary radio if it was not limited to 3 model memory.

i don't know. i kinda enjoy going flat out down a straightaway and the car making an abrupt right turn head on into the outside wall because some johan turn on his radio in the pits.

but that's just me.

Started with a basic Sanwa 2200 years ago, but progressed through Futaba 2LGX (3 of them!), JR Apex and now Futaba 3UCP (Field Force 3) for racing and Futaba 6EXP for the crawlers. 2.4ghz isn't for me right now, I couldn't afford all the receivers to replace them in all my (approx. 20) runners and no point buying a radio for just one or two cars.

Yet I still use a Futaba Attack Sport and Acoms Techniplus for when I'm bashing because as I don't run that often recently (can be months between races!) the high end stuff is usually flat when I want to use them, so you can just pop a set of AA batteries in the cheap radios and they are ready to go.

I had to google those, never heard of them. I found the manual for the 3ucp, it appears to be the stick version of the 3pj, like the 3vcs/3pk similarities

the 2lgx I couldn't find anything on except for the antenna. were these not available in the US?

What about the all mighty XL2P i have had a couple of these and loved them you can pick them up for cheap too. check Ebay

I have one, haven't plugged it into a vintage car yet. I race a couple vintage, and I have a Futaba 3PJS that I use for ALL my cars.

Started with an Aristocraft Challenger with the old bulky white receiver plugs. I think I actually liked the feel of that radio. Since then: Airtronics Rival, Futaba 3PDF, 3PJ and now a 3PK with a Spektrum Pro system.

I'm with you Doug, I still use a kraft kp3kw (porsche steering wheel yeah!). Also sporting an Airtronics 3P and M8 (Looking for a nice complete 3Ps)
