I'd like to find a nice RPM gear cover for my RC10 but I know they are impossible to find...
What about converting one made for the B2/B3/B4
Anyone tried it yet? I have one for the stampede tranny that looks like it can be cut to fit and would still be sealed...
Any other suggestions? I am sure there must be one that has a good fit... I just don't want to buy 10 different types until I find THE one!

For a long time, no one ran gear covers on their off road electric cars. I didn't for most of the late 80s. The gears stay cleaner than you'd think. Rocks and dirt could do more damage to the open endbell on the motor inches to the other side of the car, but no one covers those up.
In dirt oval racing, I've NEVER seen a cover for gears.
I know it's period correct and everything, and you might think it looks funny without, but spur/pinion gear covers aren't as crucial as people might think.

Yep, I don't ever remember seeing any gear covers at all when I raced oval and off road back in the day.

i never even cut any of mine out until i started restoring them. running dirt oval, and spinning the trans around to mid engine, you couldn't use it even if you wanted to.
