This is probably going to be of little interest to most (being none competition orientated) but I thought I would post some pictures of my latest purchase anyway :)

This is where my relationship with RC model cars started at the age of 7, actually mine was a Cheetah however I did have an XR311 shell for it. The NIB kit is the 2001 rerelease version which I've bought to build and run, the built model pictured is an original XR311 circa 1977 however its suspension is too fragile to run even lightly.

I think I'm going to do some sort of civilian paint scheme on the re re just to be a little different, I'm not sure what yet, I'm open to suggestions :? .

 make it a circus car , with a big bar cage in the back and a tiger :!: clown at the wheel, ofcourse

I'm not sure if it was on tamiya club but I've seen picture of a nice one, with a cowboy-hatted driver in shorts and hawain shirt, plus a surf board in the back?

EDIT: Tamiya had another of these on the samme priciples didn't they? A Lamborgini; cheetah? I saw the real thing in acar museum in Geneva. It was prevously used as part of the firebrigade and had the full livery to go with it. UN version or medical would be nice too. Soon you'll need a couple more of these

Lambourghini Cheetah was my first ever real RC bought pre built from a LHS, one of their customers used to build and custom paint them then give them back, for kack handed people like me, who wanted RTR in the days when there weren't any.
Always wanted another one, I did finally acquire a new built XR311 but Cheetahs are out of my league for a NIB.

somewhere on tamiya's site they show how someone adapted 1/14 scale semi dampers to the chassis. I have never ran my new built re-re http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=10304&id=34 but I used to have a beater cheetah I made a runner for a day. They can be made crazy fast because they take a 540 motor size. A handful to drive as they have no dampening on the suspension.

I plan to make mine into a rocket launcher.

This has always been my intention. I was able to score some fireworks that are a block of 20 missles that pop out one by one. I ned to make a hold and then rig up an igniter system.

So will you be able to achieve this without damage to that loverly scale body :?:
