OK, another newbie question for ya. I'm noticing how rear heavy these things are with a battery installed. Would it be to my advantage to go across the chassis vs. front to back? its gonna be a ft rc10 runner so no need to worry about the 'era look' on it...just want to be more functional than factual I guess.

wow...40 views and not a single reply? From what I have been finding is that this handles alot better when the battery sits across the chassis than front to back but what I'm not finding out is what they are running. I'll be running both oval and jumping it so I was hoping to find out what you guys think. I might not even have the ability to go sideways since the "siebenslam" is back up and I looked at it again. Sure would look cool slammed down like that but was hopin for some experienced info to go by....don't need to be cool but functional at its best...thanx

Go the way most modern 2wd designs have, battery down the middle, mass centralisation as the motorcycle manufacturers call it

a battery side to side is more stable, kinda like the guy in a high wire act with the long pole they use.
a battery front to back is more nimble.

And nimble wins

if your planning on using a tub chassis, and newer cells, you'll never get them to fit across the chassis. hell, old sce's barely fit.

lipo packs might fit across a tub. but i don't have one to try it.

Thanx for all the comments guys...nimble is the way its gonna go. A lipo would fit side to side but the battery hookup would be a pain. The one at the LHS has the plugs sticking on the topside on one end so that would mess with the body even at stock height. This way I guess I can do a little trimming on the sides of the chassis and get my chassis braces to work along with getting the body lower. I like the way my b3 jumps even with it being rear heavy but had no idea how the rc10 would handle it. Thanx again for the comments.

I have wondered this same thing. I have 2 RC10s with one battery setup going front to back and the other across. If memory serves me, the front to back was because I had old SCE cells and they didn't fit across. I just landed an RC10T (for FREE) and it is mounted side to side.
