Ok so I have bought 2 stealth buggies and 4 rc10t's. What is the ratio on the trannies? I am looking to make 1 runner out of each and 1 shelf queen out of each.
The trucks trannies need to be rebuilt and I've heard that the ratio inside needs to be updated to be competitive is this so?
Where do I get the RPM case at? and the gears to change the ratio?
what do I need to update the slipper to the new style?
Sorry but i'm just getting back into this.
I ordered the Delrin a-arms for the buggy and the RPM hubs. I'm working on the buggy first.

You can get the RPM tranny conversion at Tower, here's the link.

which slipper setup do you want to update too? b3/t3, or the b4?
if you want to update to the b4 slipper, you won't be able to use it with an rpm trans conversion. the topshaft is too big (more teeth). using it in a 2.25 stealth trans will work fine. you'll have to use a b3/t3 slipper with the rpm trans, or the original slipper from a 2.25 stealth.

The RPM conversion brings the ratio to 2.65:1 which is better suited to the larger diameter truck tires. The stock Stealth top shaft comes with the conversion but RPM did make a conversion that came with a Losi top shaft which coincidentally fits the current B4/T4 slipper/spur assembly. Good luck finding one of those though, they've been discontinued for some time now.

It comes with a copy of the standard stealth shaft just with a different number of teeth on the gear. Just means it uses the same slipper clutch mounting as a 2.25 stealth so you can only use a slipper from a B3 or earlier.

the 2.65 rpm trans use a topshaft with less teeth as compared to a stock 2.25 stealth trans. which is how it gets it's lower ratio. that is why the rpm case comes with the topshaft. you use all of the other 2.25 stealth internals to complete the rpm trans, though.

with a stock stealth transmission, the b4 topshaft and slipper is a direct replacement.
you cannot use a b4 topshaft on the rpm conversion since the rpm tranny uses a different gear on the topshaft than the b4 does.
