hardcase lipo size/shape

ok, i got a couple maxamps lipo's that are 'supposed' to be replacements to stick or side by side 6cell packs.
technically, they are the same size, but since they are way more square they dont fit some of my chassis'.
this is a prime example of what i mean:
with the maxamps pack, its just too square to fit down into the rpm chassis. also, the lead wires under the shrinkwrap add a little more length than what the hardcase's length seems to be since the hardcase leads come out the top. that maxamps pack comes to exactly 140mm with the extra wire bulk under the shrinkwrap.
and with the hardcase lipos, they look like they are intentionally curved around the edges to emulate a stick pack. i can see how this could work if the cells were placed in the middle of the case. can any of you guys confirm for me before i buy one and find out the hard way?

The Team Orion 3200 or 3600 should be fine, i also use this in an RC10. I Think this comes closest to stickpacks.

Not sure if the Orion 3200 and 3600 are the same size, I think they are. But wanted to mention they are coming out with a new line, the 3400 is supposed to fit even better in sub c designed chassis. Only according to the web site, as always your mileage may vary. Plus wires out the top generally work better for most, but not all, off road chassis. I don't think any of the lipos I have seen would fit very well in a JR era Losi.

The biggest problem w/ the Orions, In the case of badhoopty's Chassis choice, its going to need holes cut for the plugs through the battery lid.
Its a problem i have considered and i figured i will need to use side-by-side with the wires coming out the side for my RPM chassis.

The 3200/3600 orion have the same footprint. 3600 may be a touch taller, but not by much.

actually if one of you could tell me if a hardcase fits sideways in a rc10 tub that would be good enough...

send me yours and I'll check
I'll see if it fits in the gold tub when I get off work, unless somebody beats me to it.

closest hobby shop (that i know of) is honestly 2-3 hours away. i think there might be one on the south side, but after getting lost down there once i will never ever try that again. i guess now i have a less 'attractive' vehicle i could drive...
there was one up on milwakee ave pretty close to me called stanton hobbies which was really nice, but a couple summers ago i drove there to get nitro fuel and it was gone...
