Hi I just joined the forum, Ive been into vintage rc for a few years mostly Tamiya. I know a couple of the guys here shodog, Inetrc and Mr lexan, all fellow tamiya guys. I just snagged a really nice championship edition off the bay and hoping to get it together for some light running. I am a commercial sculptor by trade and the rc stuff keeps me sane in between deadlines
anyhow just wanted to introduce myself
all the best

Nice to see you here Matt. If anyone wants to see some of Matt's handy work, take a look at this custom sculpted and paint wild wendy figure he made for me and a few other Tamiya Club members.

Hi guys thanks for the warm welcome!
Shodog, Inetrc and Mr lexan always good to hear from you guys
Alex, if I can ever make it to the Socal meet with Jun and James I will buy you guys all an In and Out burger
Well lets see a wish list for tires and wheels, well I am looking for a set of original rc 10 tires and wheels, aftermarket tires are fine. and I would really like to get a set of aluminum jobs for the shelf ( i know Jim has a strangle hold on the Technacraft wheels and tires, so i wont even try for those

) SO any ideas or help would be great
i am really enjoying the site and thanks again

Mark,
You can try Eric Pine on ebay (I think his ID is epine24 or you can just email him at
[email protected]). He offers a great set of box art one piece (1st gen) machined original alum wheels.... great quality too. I thought that Jun (cardesigner) picked up a set, but I could be wrong (surprised Jim and Alex have not). Anyway, I have a set and they are fantastic. They are very similar to the old Losi covers offered long ago, but they are the complete wheel.
If you have any difficultly finding or contacting him, let me know. Hope this helps.

I have thought about grabbing a set of them but until recently, i haven't had an rc-10 that they would fit.

ditto on those stock looking machined wheelsets from epine.
i got a set and they are VERY NICE. although mine didnt have an inner lip machined into them, doesnt hurt at all for a queen but if i were to run them that would be my only beef. also the allen screws are for pure decoration, if i were to get another set i would request they dont be drilled and tapped at all.
after i bought mine i sent him an email asking if he could make them in 2.2. i think he said he could, but i never got back in touch with him on them. 2.2 alum wheels that have the oldschool look would be pretty cool imo.
i wish somebody would just spin some duratrax looking repros.

He is super busy these days, so he says. The RC thing is just a hobby and he has the means to do stuff when the machines are not running during normal business hours. Last I talked to him, he was working like 70 to 75 hours per week (at the time so was I). He told me to email him after the holiday.
I have the means through work, but it is just too damn difficult these days and is not worth the hassle. That concept seems to be some sort of virus with shops. I hear the same thing all too often from multiple sources.
Hoopty, mine are the same as yours, good for a queen, but I never run any of mine. If I get another set, I would ask for no screws and an inner lip for offf road tires.
