i know, a lot of you don't like these questions. i bought a gold pan lot a while back and these came with it. i'm not sure what this body is or what the aluminum wheels are. if you know, fill me in!

well, the body is an associated sidewinder. they came in the tq10 kits.

the wheels................... i'm not sure.

those wheels look like they'd fit a super or Hot Shot, boomerang etc though the offset is bigger than on their original wheels.
If you drill the center of the hotshot triangular hubs to the right size, you could slip it over the asso axle with crosspin and mount these wheels on your rc 10 I guess.

Some dimensions that 'd help to check:
- the knobs would fit a rim hole of 5mm
- when you measure the distance from hole 1 to 3 (so leave one hole between) they should be 20mm apart.

Those could be the correct offset to run rear tires on the front of a Hotshot (about 10mm from edge of rim to hub-- as long as the rims are 30mm wide and your hole dimensions match those given by Mr. ED). If you put original rears wheels on the front, the rims bind on the a-arms. Gisom (I believe an Italian company) made a set bitd-- I have them on my runner. Your rims don't look to be Gisom, but there were so many aftermarket companies back then.
The hubs on a Hotshot rim are typically pushed to the outside face of the tire. Hard to see in my picture, but the offset rim hubs ride 5mm further inside the rim and push the inside edge far enough out to avoid the front a-arms. Basically you end up with about 23cm for both front and rear widths-- imho it seems to make the Hotshot more stable and less prone to traction roll in corners. Plus it gives it more of the Optima-like stance that was dominant in the mid-80s.


Edit: Also I have a set of those 8410 Eagle tires in my Hotshot tire box. They may be Duratrax... I can't remember, but I did take them out of their bag within the last 2 years and I would have put them in my RC10 tire box if they belonged there!

Anyway, here's that same body on my "on-road" 10. Note: mine has the fancy air holes in the front windscreen:

you should get some black vinyl to cover the windows. It will look much better than the red. Or if it's a shelfer , cut the windows and put some netting.

I have to agree.... I got that body in a lot at some point (he had even punched the air holes in the front with a screwdriver I think!!). I threw it on because I had a chance to run it on carpet this spring. The body I used to run on it got stripped and a quicky paint job for a runner in the local vintage class last year. Tried a retro VH / Diver Down thing:


When I get some time over the next couple winters I plan on going through all my vintage stuff but right now club racing and the occasional bash with the kids is all work (and life) will allow!

believe it or not, i can't find anything that has metric measurements on it!! time to go to ace.

why don't you measure in tin inches and calculate it back to mm? Plenty conversion tools on the web
