Help ID'ing

Hi I bought this off of the bay. The guy was selling a Jato along with the rc10 and rc10ds for like 350 bucks. No one bid and I was only interested in the two rc 10's. So I asked him if he would be willing to sell the electric cars. He said he would sell the two cars with all his spare parts for 100 bucks. When I got the stuff in the box weighed like 50lbs. It was full of stuff. Anyways the original ebay pics weren't that great so I was a bit surprised when I picked up the rc10ds. Can anyone give me some info on the 2 speed tranny. Also, I think the rc10 is a team car version but I'm not sure and info would help.
Thanks

Are they fairly common. I did get a bunch of rebuild kits with it.

I had one of those 2-speed trannies. They worked ok. They probably work much better now that we have better battery technology. Once the battery started to dump, they wouldn't shift into 2nd gear. Basically only for on-road use as there was no gear cover available. I sold it on ebay years ago.

I've got one on a JRX2 sitting just to me right. They are freaking cool. The instructions say that the only difference between the X2 and the RC10 version is the top shaft. Do you have a spare top shaft. I would love to switch it over to an RC10.

I did see a gear shaft in some of the spare parts. It wasn't new and I'm not sure it goes with the kit. I'll try and find it and post a pic.
