Looking for ideas for a nice and simple antenna mount for a modern RC10 build. I'm thinking something in aluminum anodized black or black delrin would be nice. I guess I could always dye a stock RC10 mount too, but it wouldn't be as cool. 8)

Spektrum radio, dude... cut antenna to 3.6" and pigtail around a small screwdriver. The best antenna is NO antenna. ;)

And maybe it's just me, but unless it's a DSM radio, sticking an antenna through a piece of aluminum sounds like a bad idea. :?

This is the one I used on my modernized RC10 build. Simple and black:

I thought that the antenna needed to be vertical for a short period though. I'll be putting a spektrum receiver in it, but a little antenna would need to be braced a little if it was pigtailed wouldn't it? I would think with the concept of metal fatigue that a pigtailed antenna flopping around inside the car would eventually cause the thin wire inside to break.

I like that custom works antenna. It looks like it works similar to the Losi mount with the collar. Maybe I'll do that.

Exactly. I never understood why they even made aluminum antenna mounts.

for crawlers i often coil the antenna around some fuel tubing, then put heat shrink over it. then you just use the i.d. of the tubing for a screw.

Nope, I ran a pigtail coiled 3.6" antenna on a 1/12th scale car for 2 seasons. It doesn't move at all, as it's only about 1" long when coiled up and sticking straight up off of the receiver.
