Like the header says...looking to see what what a Losi JRX2 with magnum attack(?) radio/rx, unknown motor, decent shape 2 color body, no esc would be worth. It is all original and complete with the box minus one shock spring.

The tamiya is a complete rtr buggy (the name escapes me but about the same age as the JRX2 above) includes everything with an unpainted proline body and the box. It runs great according to the owner. Not sure if the original body is on it or included but its in really great shape. Throw some tamiya buggy names at me and I'll pry remember it.

Its the owners son of the Local hobbytown that is going out of business and its a couple he has in the shop. I know what he is asking for them but wanted to find out what you guys think they are worth. I asked him to email me pix so I could have them but he didn't have the stuff on his camera. He's heading back to school and needs the money and is a really decent guy so I thought I'd help him out if the prices were good...maybe someone here would like them too if I could get some pix to you guys. anyways, let me here what you think.
Thanx
Todd

Ha, Thanx Erik, its not on your list but I've been on tamiyaclub looking...can't seem to get the patience level to read thru 4 bajillion names of cars though  . heading back to do some more reading...
Todd

I know now that the idea was good but since I don't really do the 'tamiya thing' I didn't realize there was like thousands of names on the site. I was thinkin even searching for buggy but it was something different like vanquish or something like that and it kinda reminds me of it but alot of them do really look alot alike...might just have to head down there this weekend to see it again and get some info/pix.

If it looks like a racing buggy a la RC10 and Losi, it's probably something like the Dynastorm, Astute or Super Astute :D

Maybe one of those

That sounds like a good bet indeed: the cars I listed were mostly from 1 or 2 years before the JR-x2. Couldn't remeber what came after my boomerang all that well

For a Tamiya "buggy" my guess would be a Mad Fighter, Sand Viper, or Desert Gator. Ring any bells? ;)

Nothing here ringing any bells besides the vanquish and I really don't think its that but by his words its around the same era as the jrx2 but honestly he isn't into vintage...they just happen to be in the way at this time and needs the money. I looked til my eyes crossed on tamiyaclub last night and just couldn't find what I thought it was. Found out today that the engineer we are working for says this friday is gonna be a nice day to have off to make for a long weekend (I'll pry get forced to work though) so if I'm off friday I'm gonna sneak back down there and get some pix of it. Was also checking some of the stuff on ebay for the jrx2 and readin up on some of the threads about Losi values here...seems that there isn't much of a market for them unless you are into them. Don't take that wrong Losi guys...I think the rear of this car is just plain cool and would love to have the rear setup on an rc10 flattracker oval car. I'm into 'different' and that fits the bill  . Will let you know what I find out unless someone hits in on the head first. Thanx for the replies.

Ugh- he did! I saw rtr and XB / pre-built just popped into my head. I don't usually associate (pun intended) RTR with vintage. They used to be kits!

I guess my written word comprehension skills have dropped off since I last took any standardized testing.

Oh- how about Madcap or Bear Hawk?

van-guish _ a-van-te ... we could be guessing a long time with the many models Tamiya did; maybe if Todd could tell us if it's 2wd or 4wd???
Or we'll hear when he's been around again

If the body on the X2 is in good shape, along with the car and box, I would guess $75-$125. Losi stuff on ebay lately has been weird.

Hmmm, I wonder if the proline body that comes with the car is for another vehicle and just thrown in, cause I don't remember many Proline bodies that were made for Tamiya cars in the 1990 time frame.....

HA! it was the Vanquish 4x4 buggy with box/unpainted original body and wing. Still haven't gotten down there to the shop yet but am gonna try tomorrow again. If I don't make it down there he's gonna send me some pix so I can throw them up here. According to him over the phone there are 'hardly any scratches on it' since it was only run a couple times but believe it to be a complete with electronics/radio vehicle. He was not much into electrics but these caught his eye when they came out and never really did much with them besides sit them on a shelf the last couple of years. Anyway, updates to come asap. Thanx
Todd
