Losi is releasing a stampede

it even has the motor mounted up high like the old traxxas hawk/stampede.

Looks like Losi went 'Single White Female' on Traxxas.

Oh how the once mighty have fallen (sunken)...

From those small pics, it looks 100x nicer than any Traxxas electric I've seen. I was at the lhs the other day and they had the new Traxxas desert truck. I looked under the body, it looked like it was made out of the same plastic that tupperware is made out of. It was pathetic. Toys R Us grade materials. At least this Losi looks like it's made out of a half way decent material, at least from those pics.
And, I've said this many times before, and I'll say it again. The Micro-T/Micro Baja/Micro DT is the best r/c car idea and execution in years. I would say the best thing to happen to r/c cars since the TC3. And, a more important development, imho. Maybe even the best thing since the 6010.
The motor up high thing isn't a Traxxas invention. Tamiya was doing it before Traxxas even existed. I'd LOVE to see Losi put the hurt on Traxxas. I never liked Traxxas. Well, I did like the Sledgehammer, but that was a long time ago.

One thing I will criticize Losi for on this one though.
THIS is a High Roller:

I agree with you 100% about the tupperware Traxxas trucks but I gotta tell you they are tuff as nails! I race REAL off road trucks in WSORR and Traxxas has a bunch of these on display at all the events. They have a "quarter pipe" ramp like skateboarders use that they launch these things off of and it is just amazing at the beating they take! Everyone always tries to do backflips with them and they usually under/over rotate and land square on the nose or rear end and they NEVER brake. I can't believe the crap kicking these things take and just keep going! I don't own one and don't ever plan on it but I do respect them!

the traxxas short track trucks are definetly indestructible, was thinking of buying one and was bashing on at a track, these guys take full speed hits into the wall and have no damage lol. the shop owner hasnt ordered any parts really other than a few random bits that were stripped and such by the owner

Well Losi has certainly expanded their range, and I’m concerned too….But I still have some hope. They remain competitive at least for now in 1/10 and 1/8 scales despite a limited driver budget. Which it always was compared to AE.
They just announced the first major electric 1/8 scale, based on the very successful nitro. This is an amazingly active class all over despite no ready made cars. And all the race stuff has been updated recently, so hopefully we’re not forgotten…..
Agree that the Micros are incredible. We have a Mini-LST2 that doesn’t get much use, but the kid talked me into a Micro anyway. Very glad, that thing is an absolute blast. But it needs a smaller transmitter!
The Traxxas stuff does seem amazingly durable, except for the spur gears. Seems to be a very common issue. Don’t know if it’s poorly tightened RTR motor screws, a flexing part issue, or just insufficient gears.

I absolutely never understood why people would go and do these things too their money eaters.
Obviously thnings have gotten a lot stronger over the years but why the hell would you go looking to find a point at which it breaks?

A lot of the guys spend a lot of time and money racing very seriously, our weekends are a sort of let off steam, intention isn't to break them as such, more to do the best jump, biggest air etc, that revo never broke anything, nor did my Kyosho Twin Force despite flying lessons and a lot of rough riding.
Sometimes it's nice to run them for fun without pressure, once in a while. I suppose an offshoot, is you find the weak points and replace before you break it in the middle of a race.
Oh and should have a report on the Losi Brushless Eight, one of the guys was doing his own conversion, but will now get the Losi kit and maxamps lipos, once they release the kit over here.

The body-off shot on the MRP is hilarious.
It looks like this thing could mud bathe but I'm sure that's only looks, not?

That body off shot is surely Indiana Jones in the last movie
