It's an absolute stunning car, but the carbon ones are not option house parts. As far as I know they never existed in carbon, and even if I'm wrong on that point, the weave pattern is not typical of that period or option house parts.

Marwan has a repro body in his shop.
A Javelin body would be cooler though: to keep all that frame work visible

Only the gold anod is option house all carbon fiber parts were made, but the shock towers might be from pargu2000 not sure.

You are right there - no carbon side plates were produced by Kyosho. I do remember seeing a couple in Japanese/European magazines back in the day though - most likely home made.

Your comments on the Javelin body are spot on too. My ""full house" gold Optima (made only with genuine Option House parts only), looks significantly better with the Javelin body on it - rather than a lexan one. I thought about doing a half painted and half unpainted body.....but not quite sure. I would never have thought that orange and gold would look so good together - but it is sweet. Here are some pics taken a few years ago - just after I finished the build: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=10268&id=5 Now that I have a better camera - and looking at these old pics - I think I better take some more photos!

I was actually thinking of just useing a new clear optima body with some tecnacraft wheels, and its done. but I do like the idea of a partial paint joas far as the javelin body thats sounds cool to I have some extra javelin bodies in different colors.

The Half/Half would look great - but I have been trying for years to decide what colour-scheme would look best on that half of the body - I keep on coming back to "Box Art".....it would sure look like a "homage"to all things Kyosho. However, when you put a Javelin cage on it - you probably wont want to take it off.

Hey Jay - It will take a while to be as good as you mate - CG

Hi Murphy3428, Optima looks great, love them, I've got a few of them at home, no runners yet, no gold celebration ones as well, I had to get one anodized gold because I couldn't find any original gold chassis, and what i found cost a arm and a leg. i knoe Fibre-Lyte in the UK makes carbon parts for the Optima, I doubt it that the Optima you are getting is original carbon option parts.
