the more expensive 'team' kits had the hard anodized shocks and bearings. the gold shocks were for the budget bushing kits.

my first post may be a bit misleading, i was just kinda firing from the hip. i know the 10t & gt trucks came with either sport or team options but i aint too sure about the buggies being offered up that way.

that being said, somebody correct me if i'm wrong here:

old style bottom loading o-ring gold shocks
-original narrow arm gold tub & graphite kits

new style gold shocks
-championship edition? (not too sure if it had the new style gold or retained the old design)

new style hard anodized (grey) shocks
-team car
-worlds car

I know that the original had the bottom loaders and my old CE had the newer style gold shock. I just wasn't sure on the others. My plan is to build up a team car utilizing a composite craft team car chassis, a NIB stealth tranny and a few other choice hop ups. what body did the team car use? a viper?

Have the Associated catalog right here in front of me... it shows that the Team Car has the Viper body (Tower is currently out of them).

i prolly helped drained towers supply when i ordered around 30 bodies a couple months ago...

i sure hope they still keep making bodies at least for a few more years.

I just ordered some too, not nearly as many as you......... I'll have to wait on the Viper hoping that they will get some in soon.

lemme tell ya, it wasnt very fun trimming all of them, but at least now all my 'completed' projects have bodies.

i do believe 2 gold tubs were called championship editions. one with the 6 gear, and one with the stealth. both had the wide front arms. the 6 gear car had the bottom loading shocks, and the stealth car had the new style.

your chassis is drilled for the stealth though, right? i'm guessing someone pulled the stealth and put a 6 gear in it. i might be thinking of the wrong car though. sorry if it's not yours dude. :?

Yup, it is. Never even thought of that. I guess it's the "why would you" factor that threw me off.

I would doubt that's the case. I'm sure 6 gear cars were still being made long after the top load shocks were introduced. And, once the Stealth came out, I think most of the kits came with Stealth drilled chassis. So, it would make perfect sense to get a Champ car with a 6 gear, top loading shocks and Stealth holes.
