LIPO Recommendations For The Mamba Max

I have a Castle Mamba Max with a 5700kv motor.I love it,it is everything I could ever ask for in a brushless setup.
I've been running NI-MH batteries and lately,a few of them died on me.
I just bought a really good LI-PO ready charger,with a balance port built in,too.
So,I am on a quest to buy my first LI-PO.
I did some looking around and some research and wound up calling a tech at Castle for a recommendation on what LI-PO would be suitable for my application.
He said go with a 5000mah LIPO with no less than a true 20C rating-that's 100 amps.
The Mamba 5700 is capable off drawing 100amps,at most and said that if the ESC needed to pull 100 amps and there was less than that available from the battery,I could damage the ESC.
I found a 5000mah LI-PO with a 25C amp rating.
Not cheap, but it looks as if it'll work real well.
I've seen plenty of people running 5700kv Mambas with smaller packs than this, but at the same time,I don't want to cheap out-I want to buy a LI-PO that will go the distance and be perfectly matched to my 5700kv Mamba Max.
I'd really love some opinions on this!

I can't say anything for or against other Lipos(I don't have any other brands), but I love my Maxamps packs. I have 2 6000mah 2s and recently ordered a 6000mah 3s. I run the 2s with a Sidewinder and Mamba Max esc with no problems. They are big power too. They just had a big sale and will have another between now and Christmas if I had to guess. You may find cheaper, but I wouldn't get too cheap. The 5700kv motors with either of the Castle escs are nearly out of control with just the 2s packs. I can only imagine what the Mamba Max 5700 will be like on 3s. Amain hobbies had some Lipos on clearance the other day that looked pretty good. I recognized the packs in the picture from magazine articles so it's probably a respectable brand. I think it's Protek. They had 4800mah 2s packs on clearance for like $54. I might be a little off on this so look around on there if you go.

Check out these Lipo's

I may order some, not a bad price for a ROAR approved lipo either!

Orion, TrakPower, and SMC are all considered top notch stuff. They are all matched, hold balance quite well, of course a balance charger is still wise in my opinion. And they are known to actually make their claimed numbers, very good voltage under load.

The smaller Orions, 2400, 3400, & 3800, plus the older 3200 & 3600, fit better in the old chassis. Rounded corners, fake cell bumps for cell cut chassis even.

I’m very happy with the TP 4900s, even though I don't much care for the gold color. I'm guessing some here would absolutely love it though. But they may not fit in matching chassis, at least they don't fit in my older Losis.

I'm sure there are other good choices, the market is exploding, but these are well regarded and supported.
