Nice truck and welcome! The truck is a later model Rc10T after the conversion to the black plastic. I have the same version along with a couple other trucks that only have black a-arms with all the other plastic white. Associated was continuously updating and changing kit parts, which leads to many different RC10T's. I believe there was 3 different types of plastic, search for more info on this as I dont remember the details. I have some black parts that are a slightly different color than the current parts. For more detailed info on what years they changed to black parts, search the site there is plenty of topics on this.
As for the body, the original 10T body is long discontinued but looks like yours already has been upgraded to the T2 or T3 body. Towerhobbies still is selling the T3 bodies but I believe at the moment they are on order. Check ebay for T2 and T3 bodies, they are pretty plentiful. I use both of them and they are very similar in style. As for modifications for mounting all I you have to do is upgrade front and rear body mounts to the RPM adjustable versions, towerhobbies still has them. They have a second set of holes to move the posts inward which helps with the T2 and T3 bodies otherwise the rear body posts are right next to the shock tower bumps which makes it hard to install the pins.
Hope this helps.
Jamie

Thanks for the info. I will be upgrading the rims as the striker 2's dont wanna fit on the stock rims to well. The body that i have fits perfect so will a t2 body fit with out the rpm mounts?

Yes, it is possible but the rear body pins want to go into the shock tower hump when installed. Does not make for a very strong mount. I will post a pic in the morning of what I am actually talking about.

I had the same problem awhile back and was told about the RPM rear body mounts. Just like stated above they work great.

Cool! Another AE truck with a black alloy chassis!
I have the RPM adjustable body mount kit on my T2 and it's a good thing.
I have the stock T2 parts if you need them, too.
My T2 got a beating at the beach on the weekend, what a blast.
Just threw a 9T brushless in it,with an IB 3600mah pack and got nearly 10 minutes of run time.
Running a T2 at high speed on a muddy/sandy beach makes a LOT of mess...
Cleaned the truck down with compressed air and some detergent/water in a trigger pack, but I'm looking at 4 REALLY filthy wheels and tyres on the floor that I'm not looking forward to cleaning...

sounds like a pretty good price to me, though I'm not anywhere near an expert on these, and have no clue how much the electronics are worth

Are you an experienced racer? Ifnot, just take this to the sportsman class and have some fun in return of your investment.
You can shelf it next year and it will be double value to you as it will hold memories.

I was gonna race it but I dont think they race trucks that old. all it says is 1/10 truck stock, 1/10 buggy stock, monster truck, 1/18 truck and buggy, slash spec, 4 wheel drive buggy, novice

That's your class, go for it.
You will soon see there's a lot more to racing than the car only. Keep the money for the T4 in your pocket and look around for the things you 'll need like a couple batteries, decent charger and possibly a transponder. Once you got you first year behind you, you can transfer those things over to your next ride.
Trust me, a little moderation in the beginning will keep you around the hobby much longer, and like somenoe else wrote here not long ago: good things take time

if Lipo is legal at your track, check out the Yeah Racing ones. I have heard great reviews from them (oh, and if your charger is Lipo capable also).
