M-03 Mini's

Got a few runs under my belt with my new M-03 Mini.
What a blast of a car!
Even more, when I bolted in a Reedy MVP 27 turn stock motor...When I took the body off,the inside of the body and the front of the chassis was covered in rubber from the tyres.
Built it with a full set of new bearings and a set of blingy blue anodized threaded alloy shocks.
Got a few parts on order,a quick release battery thingy and a sway bar set.
What other hop ups/mods are worth doing?
I might add some alloy uprights and steering knuckles.
Please excuse the bad photography...

Yep-That's about the best Mini site around!
How noisy are the trannys on these Tamiya Minis?
I'm using the kit (metric) pinion and assembled it all with AE Stealth lube and a new bearing set.
The tranny's pretty noisy,man!

Yep, noisy they are..... strangely, it doesn't seem to affect anything.... they're just loud at full 'noise' (pardon the pun). You certainly know when therre's a few of them about.....

Everyone should have a Mini or two..... even if just for fun...

You will probably find that some of the noise that is coming from the gearbox is being caused by the pinion gear.. The standard Tamiya pinions are aluminium, and wear very quickly, and this can cause some noise because of the worn gear teeth. I would recommend getting a steel or hard coated alloy one, and check them often..

Also, Uni drives are a good investment..

Right on-I've already bought a pair of universals and am just waiting for them to arrive.
I'll try a Robinson pinion and see if that'll shut it up some...
