Well well, look see what we have advertised locally-A Turbo Optima Mid SE!
Haven't seen one of these for a long time.
Missing the origonal body, wheels and the rear Platinum shocks, but it seems to be in one peice.
Auction has a few days to go,yet, but I'm not sure if I need to do another high dollar Kyosho restoration anytime soon.

Wheither it is worth buying largely depends on what's your idea of 'restoration'. If you're only replacing what's not original or broken, and are happy with scratched and (slightly) worn... go for it. If you need it spotless; no point in buying this: it doesn't look like there's a single spotless part on it.

Yeah,I hear that!
I'm an idiot-I restore cars the hard way!
I start with a used up,tatty car and replace every part, part by part, until every part's been replaced with either new,or spotless used parts.
That's how I restored my Turbo Ultima...I don't want to know how much that car cost me to restore!
I should just wait for tidy cars to come along, but they're usually out of my price range and to ship a car from the States to here,in New Zealand, costs me US$50...And the NZ dollar just took a slide against the greenback, too.

I'm bidding on the Mid SE.
If I win it,it'll get restored the hard way, like my Turbo Ultima was.
Always wanted an Optima mid,but to get a Turbo Mid SE would be sweet
Give my bro Marwan in Kuwait a call for a new repro body and I'm in with a grin.
I know where I can get a set of new in packet wheels, too.

I bought one of these new back in the day. After having built it and admired it and realising since I had blown all my budget on the kit and didn't have enough money left to do it justice in the electronics/motor department I sold it. I drove it a few times on the stock speed controller and saw that the car had awesome potential. It's my biggest RC regret selling that car. I look for them for sale now but I have to keep telling myself as good as they were a b44 would be better, so long as I can keep telling myself that I can resist paying a crazy amount for a Turbo Optima SE
